Bullying

Everyone has been bullied at one point in their lives, and most people love sharing their experience and how they faced the bully. But, what most people hate to admit is that at one point or another, they have been bullies. Even though I would never approve of bullying, I believe that everyone makes mistakes, and expelling a student from school is not the correct way to handle the situation.
When I was in sixth grade, I had very few friends, and I was often bullied by a group of girls for no particular reason. I moved away for one semester of seventh grade, and when I moved back to the school I went to in sixth grade, I became friends with a popular girl and became a bully. I teased girls behind there backs, posted mean things about them on social media, and gossiped about things that were none of my business. I was confronted by a few girls and my counselor, and together, they made me realize how much I was hurting people. By eighth grade, I had realized that everyone deserved my respect and kindness.
Although I do understand that there are certain situations where a bully must be removed from a school environment, (ex: telling someone they should hurt or kill themselves, excessive physical bullying) I believe that there are other ways to handle a bullying problem, the most important ways including confrontation and forgiveness.
