We are not yet to the point of hologram technology but the AR potentials allows for safer exposure to students to high risk situations with less cost and better safeguards than high fidelity simulation.

I already see it with my current clients - they are still packaging elearning courses in 30-45 minute increments, but they want each section to be no more than 3-5 minutes. This allows their employees to fit the course into their regular workday responsibilities without losing their progress.
