    - Other programs include, Sheltered English Instruction or SDAIE in which students with lower proficiency. These students are usually in stand alone classrooms for several hours of direct language instruction.

    - There is also bilingual instruction in which only ELL students are taught in multiyear or short-term “transitional” programs where they eventually become proficient in both their native and target language.
