Basically, globalisation is that companies and people have so many connections with other countries now, they travel, communicate with and to these other countries and thereby take over some parts of other cultures. This is all because of social media and the internet and we don't even really realize it's happening! Globalisation is making our real country borders more vague than they used to, because we are now so connected with other countries.

Consequences for companies

This is a strategic advantage for many companies, as it is now so much easier to work overseas and reach a bigger audience with their product and/or services. More knowledge, because of a multinational team and working environment, but of course it also means more trouble. It's quite a step to start in a new country, that still has other norms and values than the home country. Other than that, it is much easier for companies to grow quickly, compared to only a century ago.
