The survivors had to either hid for years or work themselves nearly to death. We can honor them by remembering every word they say and by eliminating racism.

What Will We Learn From Upstander In The Holocaust

Upstanders in the Holocaust could be the neighbors that helped the Jews, in this difficult time. Or the stores that sold food to the Jews. An Upstander could be anyone who help anyone, just helping the other out of the goodness in their heart. Both the victim and the survivors endured a lot just waiting for aid, during that long wait everyone was helping the other out of hope of everyone survival. We can learn so much from all the these people! They have experienced the hard things for us of the present, so the least we can do is learn!

Victims and survivors responded by trying their best to hide from the Germans so they wouldn't get killed, separated from their families, forced into labor without being paid, and several other things. Hiding was the only thing they could do as well as hoping they didn't get caught. We can honor their voices by helping others out, being brave, and stand up for what we believe is right.
