First, I learned that hornbill also had similiar species, "Toucans". Their difference is " Casque" on their head. Toucan doesn't have casque and hornbill had. Hornbill diet mostly seeds and fruits but also some species eat insects like cicada. The male and female difference also can be observe by their color, beak characteristics and their pouch color. It's very interesting to know this!!!

Second, I just experience and know today that hornbill nesting on tree cavities. But they had challanges such as unsuitable cavities for laying eggs, competition and predator and also human huntings. Many tree cavities aren't suitable for them to nest so the Xplore Gaia and other NGO came up with an idea about Artificial Nesting Box. This effort are bring good news to us because of that hornbill had many offsprings. This also increase the population of hornbill especially in Sukau, Kinabatangan.

Third, we also lucky to see a rare species of hornbill that quite hard to see. The species are Helmeted Hornbill. This species are critically endangered species on IUCN RedList. We're lucky to see it today. Well speak of critically indangered species, the hornbill get haunted by people because their casque are rare and some of them used for cosmetics due to it's solidity.

Well, I think that all of what I've discovered today. I hope to contribute more and join any program that related to endangered species not just animal but also plants.

On the morning session, we are doing Identification of The Elephant. For the first time I can touch an elephant dung or also called "boli". This dung will be used for scientific research to identify the stress hormone of the elephant. The sample of the dung should be less than 6 hour old for accurate reading.

Then, on the evening session, our schedule has change from ID gajah part 2 but canceled due to heavy rain and we change to river cruise activity. We can see a "Buaya Tembaga" at the Kinabatangan river. We can also see Proboscis Monkey, Kingfisher, Hornbill, Ular Tedung, Dollar Bird and much more.

For night session, we went back to the Plantation where we find the dung and observed the nearby Pygmy Elephants. We saw them eating in the palm oil chipping area.

I think that's all for today. Im really tired for todays activity because our road to go to the elephant site are really challanging and shaking our car hardly. See ya!

For Our first activites, we do observing Wild Elephant nearby around 100-150 meters. We observe 1 dominan elephant called "Berjaya" and one of his wife called "Tini". For now, Berjaya are currently in mating behaviour and join the large group of female elephant to do mating.

For our second activity, we going to install camera trap for Pangolin at nearby forest with Dr. Elisa Panjang that are specialist on Pangolin. We spent a lot of time with Dr, gain knowledge and do observation and night walking. During the time we install camera teap, we lucky to know about electric fence that run with solar.

For third activities, we going for Night Walking with Dr. Elisa at Bukit Keruak. Our advanture that time so challanging because the heavy rain for this two days. We experience the muddy path but during that time we can see some creature like centepide, frog, turtle, snail and spider. But our adventure going to end because the rain start falling again so we rushed back to our stay.

That's are the best experience in my carrier because I can do my adventure with my friends, with an exprert like Dr. Elisa and Seratu Aatai team. I hope to continue my adventure with more supportive teams and expert to gain more knowledge and gain skill for conservation.

For the result of camera trapping, sadly we didn't get any sight of Pangolin maybe because we just leave that one night just for our experience with this things. We manage to get a sight of certain animal such as dogs and monkeys. As you can see the image were caught from the first camera when the monkey facing away from the camera and we saw his butt😆. Well for camera, we only caught one sight of black rock skink.

Well on the evening, we are doing river cruise again but this time we get wet because of the heavy rain. But the rain didn't stop us from advanture. We manage to see Buaya Tembaga again but this time we saw the offsprings about 2feet long. We also manage to see Orang Utan, Monkeys and Proboscis Monkey nearly.

Well i think thats all for my journey today. I hope my advanture will continue as long as i can.
