battle summery-  when Abraham Lincoln announced plans to resupply the fort, confederate general P.G.T had bombarded fort  Sumter. to sum it up, the confederate won by Major Anderson and his men being  allowed to strike their colors, fire a 100-gun salute, and board a ship bound for New York.

what happened during the battle of wilderness?
the battle of wilderness was marked as "the first stage of major union offensive toward the confederate capital." this was TWO days of bloody and often chaotic combat. which was ending to a tactical draw and heavy casualties.  in the end, the union army still won.
