    Ba, age two. The wooden rocking horse made by his uncle who was a master carpenter. He could look at something once and figure out a way to build it. My father’s favorite was a foosball table table before it was even introduced in Nepal. 

    The horse in the photograph was passed down through generations to me. Though creaky and cold, we loved playing with it. After the festivals, when I was probably 10 or 11, and seeing a lot of animal sacrifices, a cousin and I decided to do the same with our toy horse. I still feel horrible about it, we destroyed a legacy.
