Why are you taking this class?

The reason I decided to enroll in this course if because I want to major in it. I have a general idea of what this course entails but I would like to expand my knowledge in this subject. I was a Psychology major before I made this decision. I have a feeling that this is something I would engage with more and find more fascinating although they are not two completely different subjects that aren't related at all. So far I really enjoy the contents of this class and I hope to learn and succeed in this course by the end of this semester.

Preface (JCB)

The preface of JCB is telling us that in this book we will learn to think outside the box and not look at things in such a literal sense. There's a deeper meaning to things we see in our everyday life and that it doesn't just stop there. For example, he quotes "These thinking frames encourage you to explore the same topic from different angles".

Ch 1. Jeans/Discovering Sociology

In this chapter we learn about every day items to explain the concepts of thinking and sociology. How do jeans have such big impact? Well they've been around for over a century and they are still a staple item in modern day society. They are such a universal item, whether you buy them off a shelf at a new factory store, make them you self or you acquire them second hand, they are something we as a society share and have in common.
