Religion was very important to the Egyptians. They put many different resources into it like time to worship and some of their belongings for sacrifices. Many people would carry around a representation of one of the gods with them everywhere. The Egyptians believed in the afterlife which is where a person dies and then goes to a special place. Many Egyptians hoped for a good afterlife so it was more enjoyable. They believed if they followed their religious beliefs well they would have a good afterlife and blessings from the gods in their current life.

The afterworld was very important for the Egyptians. The mummies that we see in museums were just the way a very important person prepared their body for the afterlife. They would put treasure next to their bodies to use as wealth in the afterlife. They thought that the physical and spiritual bodies had to go to the underworld together.
