         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Creativity refers to one's ability to devise colourful ideas that are beyond her existing knowledge. Schools nowadays tend to standardize students' thinking and prohibit students from thinking outside of their box by teaching them certain rules and regulations that they should follow. Some argue that schools' ideas of implementing rules on students, what many say as killing students' creativity, bring practical benefits to students. While others strongly argue that creativity plays an important role in students' growth and that schools should stop devising rules and regulations that restrict students from thinking outside of their box.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>CONI&amp;GRANGER<br>Exam-oriented education system is by definition is to deal with exam-based education model , being the most common system in the aspect of selecting future elites. Schools under the system serve the purpose of educating most children through the compulsory education.<br><br>It kills students creativity by focusing solely on exams, which often comes at the cost of students losing their imaginations and creativities. Students in China are taking a key exam that will determine their future(Rob Schmitz,2011).Such huge pressure causes certain level of anxiety.To realize its function of passing down textbook-based knowledge ,thus, to evaluate students' performance efficiently and equitably, the system is designed to focus on grades. Low grades invite low self-esteem and isolation , which requires students to be highly competitive . By investing a great deal of time on academic learning, other outside activities and extra-curriculums suffer from the reduction of attention. Besides the diversity of school activities may suffer, students will probably lose their childhood within the learning process ,during which , children develop their creativity through different social interactions. As a result, students' creativities are undermined at a relatively early age.<br><br>The exam-based education system brings unneeded tension among students with improper implementation.This particular approach, at its worst, can stifle a student's imagination, creativity, and sense of self, qualities crucial for a child's ultimate success in and out of the classroom(Kirkpatrick, R., &amp; Zang, Y. (2011). Schools was established to impart the knowledge but it is exam-oriented, which kills creativity. The emphasis on public exams leads students to overly focus on prosaic memorisation of the knowledge.<br><br>The packed school schedule and quizzes impede students opportunity to exercise their creativity. Schools restrict students to attend all passive lessons. The academic-oriented system narrows the scope of creativity among the students.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Creativity is a thinking process that involves spontaneity of thoughts in a productive direction. New educational laws are key to encouraging creativity at Hong Kong schools. Hong Kong schools have become test-oriented and value academic achievements over originality.  This may be causing students to lose their drive for learning by creative means, and thus they lose valuable life skills.<br><br>Hong Kong schools are test-oriented and value academic achievements over life skills that stem from creativity. Students attach great importance to public exams results, which is quite rigid in its marking requirements ( Survey that hasn't yet happened, 2017 ). Consecutively they may shy away from learning as mistakes are stigmatized by parents, teachers and peers.</div>]]></description>

         <title>THE EFFECTS OF EARLY SCHOOLING ON CREATIVE THINKING</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>‘Creativity’ is an innate, but highly-prized human trait that is loosely defined as the imaginative, flexible, ‘out-of-the-box’ or unconventional application of an individual’s knowledge or skills to a plethora of problem-solving tasks (Example &amp; Example, 2024).</div><div><br></div><div>The early introduction of rigid, prescribed education systems to the modern youth is one of the major factors that smother the creative development in today’s young students.</div><div><br></div><div>While creativity itself is an innate, defining trait of human existence, it is a nurtured one, which requires a supportive and explorable environment to develop. With many modern schools over-emphasising the importance of fact-based learning (Notarealexample, 2019), coupled with lower enrolment ages in pre-primary institutions (Theoreticalexample, 2031), students are not being given the space necessary to explore topics, and thus, nurture creativity.</div><div><br></div><div>This report will examine and highlight the rigidity and early introduction to school systems to emphasise the negative impact they have upon modern creative thinking.<br><br>Younger minds are more susceptible to environmental influences in their behavioral development. Blowingwater’s 2091 study shows that traits and habits formed during the ages of 5-10 have an exponential effect on an individual’s adolescent habits. Habitual procrastination, as the study suggests, is more likely to be rigorously retained if such behaviour was rewarded during those early ages. From this, it can be inferred that the same observation can be applied to the development of creativity. Fact-based learning is, by nature, a rigid and binary system (Notarealexample, 2019); and such systems reward students for rigid, binary approaches to problem-solving. This indicates that students subject to these systems at a younger age are more likely to develop binary, inflexible problem-solving tools in their repertoire.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>j&nbsp;</div><div>Creativity refers to the ability to produce new ideas without restriction.<br><br>The exam-oriented education system focuses on the academic ability but pays little attention to the development of creativity.&nbsp;<br><br>Students in school cannot freely convey their opinions. The answers provided in school are always standardized. Students sometimes cannot express their thoughts in test or even in the classroom. The answers other than the standardized answer is labeled as 'wrong'. In this case, to some extent, their thinking is being controlled. As time goes by, they will be afraid of making mistakes. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

While others strongly argue that creativity plays an important role in students' growth and that schools should stop devising rules and regulations that restrict students from thinking outside of their box.&nbsp;<br>Many school teachers tend to teach their students according to a set of rigid rules, which kill students' creativity. As one secondary school principal in Australia reported that teachers are so "fixated on standardised testing and getting results against national benchmarks" (Browning, 2017). Due to such teachings of their teachers, students tend to strictly follow the rules and instructions solely taught by their respective teachers. This greatly kill their ability to think beyond the instructions and rules taught by their teachers. As this continuously happens, students will not be able to think outside of their box as they grow into adults in the society. They will always search for instructions and teachings of a superior being.&nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
