Orwell utilises a third person omniscient point of view, to portray the conflicts of corruption and inequality in his book Animal farm, giving the audience an unbiased perspective on all the animals experiences . This is explored through Boxer, who is an equal to the pigs but will always follow Napoleon's commands, representing the working class in society.

George Orwell challenges the idea of corruption of power by depicting the pigs to be more superior than the other animals. He does this by using third person omniscient to communicate the idea of the unfair hierarchy among the animals. The pigs are seen to rank higher than all the animals and they utilize their rankings to the best of their advantage. By banishing the animals to the other side of the road when they are walking on it and wearing green ribbons on their tails on Sundays, it shows their superiority.

George Orwell uses characterisation and point of view, being third person omniscient, to challenge the reader's perception on soviet Russia using allegories. By characterising Napoleon as a clear cut bad person and using different types of animals as classes it helps us see the discrimination more clearly. The use of third person omniscient also gives us a clear non biased view that lets us form our own thoughts on how the farm is run.

George Orwell’s use of third person omniscience illustrates the characteristics of each animal inhabiting ‘Animal farm’. This demonstrates the animal’s individual perceptions and personalities without getting personal. As a result, Orwell communicates and hints to the ideas of greed and corruption that comes from the pigs who mirror the leaders of Russia at the time and how it impacts the other animals and the subservience of certain animals who help to continue the cycle. It is a mind opening experience that allows the readers to view this media without bias of the animals being human while still understanding the hypocrisy and wrong doings of the pigs and being able to apply it to possible current or past parallels in real life.George Orwell’s use of third person omniscience illustrates the characteristics of each animal inhabiting ‘Animal farm’.
