When I’m driving I see people swerve to avoid cracks in the road and potholes and sometimes get out of their lane so they don’t damage their vehicle.

***Trevor, this piece of ethos has a lot of potential! I see your attempts to showcase that you are experiencing pot holes, because you are a driver yourself. I would take a second to improve your word choice to make this situation more intense. For example, consider changing "avoid", "damage", and "get out". Also, I would add more adjectives so this situation feels more intense as well in terms of the cracks in the road and getting out of their lane. With these changes, this piece of ethos will be incredibly strong!***

All one needs to look towards for further convincing is Colorado’s Division of Criminal Justice Office of Research and Statistics.

It has come to my attention recently that state senators Anna Wishart and Adam Morfeld of Lincoln

***Caden, these are wonderful uses of the second strategy for ethos. The only phrase that sounds a bit cliché is "all one needs to look forward to”. Is there an alternative phrase that could be used that has more originality? Let me know if you need assistance. All in all, well-constructed ethos!***

I am Uyen Ha, a Junior at Lincoln High School, this is my third year at Lincoln High School. Being a hard-working student and also a gourmet, I’m really care about the nutrition that I eat each day at lunch; after three years I have been eating our school lunches, our school lunch program should be changed.
***Uyen, you do an effective job at making a cohesive thought here with these sentences. I can certainly tell you have experience. Could you provide more clarification on your use of “gourmet”? This could be a solid word choice; however, it might be out of context in the condition it is in now. Also, instead of saying, “I really care about the nutrition,” how could we show your care about nutrition. It is one thing to say that you care and another to show how you have been caring about this topic. Let me know if you need ideas!***

I was a immigrant i was born in jordan and i came into the U.S in august i was 3 months old. I see how people struggle because of violence like my family back in Iraq they struggle from violence and they can’t do anything about it

***Mustafa, you bring valuable experience to the table for this topic, and I am excited to see where you take this one! Your ethos has a wonderful foundation; however, I am missing the extra vibes to bring this one to life. For example, try to pick out more intense word selections for “struggle” and “can’t do anything about it”. You are most likely writing to a person who has never experienced the things you have been through; therefore, clear communication and specific examples will bring this example to light and help your audience see. Also, it may be a good idea to humanize the idea of “family” a bit more. A lot of times it is a word that can lose its meaning; try to be more specific in terms of who is your family? Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more assistance.***

. I believe that we should notice more people and in a more clear meaningful way about why they should be more aware when it comes to driving. There are flashy signs on roads saying that you should buckle up and drive safe but people tend to keep driving and pay no mind to it.

***Hello mystery student! These sentences have a lot of potential with a clear, cut message; however, I seem to be left searching for the ethos. I would recommend returning to your ethos notes from yesterday, pick the strategy you want to stick to for these sentences, and write an original cohesive set of sentences. If you need assistance with this please let me know!***
