The puritans migrated to the northern English colonies in the 1620's to 1630's because they were under siege from the churches and crowns. "The Life and Diary of David Brainerd"(1749)
A bibliography of David, edited by a Puritan, Jonathan Edwards. David was an early American missionary whose selfless life of prayer.

3) John Owen     
  (1616–1683)
"The Mortification of Sin"
One of the best known of the Puritans work. It's about  sets  foundational principles of mortification, poses the  characteristics
of Puritan devotion on God.

  The purpose of witch trials was to eliminate women who were labelled as "witch" Which was actually an event of mass women slaughter. In 1692, people who were delusional, hysterical, and invidious, were the ones to create the trend in colonial Massachusetts.

In a puritan household the women were tasked with doing the house chores as well as raising the children while the men went to work. The children went to school and helped around the house. Women and children had no right to vote, This privilege was given only to the men.
