My Unforgettable Trip to Sabang

by Cinta Asyura

Orientation:

Last year, my family and I embarked on an exciting adventure to Sabang, a picturesque island located at the westernmost tip of Indonesia. We had been planning this trip for months, eager to explore its pristine beaches, vibrant underwater world, and unique historical sites.

Events:

Our journey began with a ferry ride from Ulee Lheue port in Banda Aceh. The sea was calm, and the refreshing breeze made the hour-long trip very enjoyable. Upon arriving in Balohan, Sabang, we immediately rented a scooter, which proved to be the best way to explore the island freely.

Our first stop was Iboih Beach, famous for its calm waters and vibrant coral reefs. We spent hours snorkeling there, marveling at the colorful fish and diverse marine life. The clarity of the water was astounding! The next day, we visited the iconic Kilometer Nol monument, marking the zero point of Indonesia. It was a humbling experience to stand at such a significant geographical landmark. We also explored Benteng Jepang (Japanese Fortress), a historical site that offered a glimpse into Sabang's past during World War II. The views from the fort were breathtaking, overlooking the vast ocean.

One of the highlights of our trip was diving at Rubiah Island. The underwater visibility was excellent, and we saw barracudas, reef sharks, and countless other species. The professional dive instructors made the experience safe and incredibly memorable. In the evenings, we enjoyed fresh seafood at local warungs, tasting authentic Acehnese cuisine, which was incredibly delicious.

Reorientation:

Our trip to Sabang was absolutely incredible. The natural beauty of the island, combined with its rich history and warm hospitality, made it an unforgettable experience. We returned home feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a collection of wonderful memories that we will cherish for a long time. Sabang truly lived up to its reputation as a hidden gem.

My First Umrah Journey

by: DINDA SAlSABILA APRILIA

Orientation

In December 2023, after years of dreaming and saving, my family and I finally embarked on our first Umrah journey to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The excitement was palpable as we boarded the plane from Jakarta, a mix of nervousness and immense gratitude filling our hearts. This was more than just a trip; it was a spiritual pilgrimage, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with our faith on a deeper level.

Events

Upon our arrival in Mecca, the first sight of the Kaaba was breathtaking. It was a moment of profound awe and humility. We immediately proceeded to perform our first Tawaf, circling the Kaaba seven times, our voices softly reciting prayers. The sheer number of people, all unified in their devotion, created an incredibly powerful atmosphere. The Sa'i between Safa and Marwah followed, a symbolic reenactment of Hajar's desperate search for water. Each step felt significant, connecting us to a long history of faith.

The next few days were spent in constant devotion. We prayed in the Grand Mosque, often staying for hours, feeling the serenity and peace that permeated the air. We also visited historical sites around Mecca, learning more about the early days of Islam.

Our journey then took us to Medina, the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The tranquility of Masjid Nabawi (the Prophet's Mosque) was remarkable. We spent much time in contemplation, offering salutations to the Prophet and his companions. Visiting Rawdah, a sacred area within the mosque, was another highlight, although access was managed strictly due to the crowds. The spiritual energy in Medina was different from Mecca, more serene and reflective. We also visited the Quba Mosque, the first mosque built by the Prophet, and Mount Uhud, a site of historical significance.

Reorientation

Returning home, I felt a profound sense of transformation. The Umrah journey was physically demanding, but spiritually incredibly rewarding. It strengthened my faith, deepened my connection with Allah, and provided a fresh perspective on life. The memories of performing rituals at the holiest sites, the unity of the global Muslim community, and the serene moments of prayer will forever remain etched in my heart. It was truly an unforgettable experience that brought immense peace and gratitude into my life.

        By : meli Aprilia

Okay, first I will tell you about the first day I went to Banda Aceh. I didn't go there alone. No, I went there with my grandmother.Okay, first I woke up early in the morning at around 06:22 to take a shower, then ate at around 07:00 I left by car and on the way not much happened because I slept a lot.At 02:24 we stopped at Jinieb for lunch and a short rest, after that we left again for Banda Aceh. So we arrived there at 04:05. So when you get there, people first greet the owner of the house, right? After that, everyone immediately took a break for about 2 hours. After Maghrib arrived, I went straight to the mosque to pray. After the evening prayer, I went for a night walk with my cousin. Not long after I walked around for about 2 hours, after that we went home. In the morning, my mother invited us to go to the date palm park, about 3 hours away. When I got there, I was really happy because I could see horses, heheh So, mom saw me looking at a horse and then mom asked me to ride a horse. She said otherwise, I wasn't wearing long pants so I didn't ride. Mom saw me nodding and looked sad. So, mom... Inviting me to play darts so I was happy again after all the games I had played so we went home

That's all because if I wanted to tell the story again it would be so long that it would never end 😹😹 thank you assalamualaikum we.wb

Visiting Grandma's House in Takengon

By: syifa mauliza

Orientation:

Last year during the school holiday, my family and I went on a trip to Takengon, a beautiful town in Aceh known for its cool weather and Lake Lut Tawar. I was so excited because it was my first time visiting my grandmother's house there.

Events:

We left early in the morning and the journey took around 6 hours. Along the way, we saw mountains and green forests. When we arrived, we stayed at my grandmother's house near the lake. We visited many places such as the Central Point market to buy fresh vegetables and coffee. We also spent time by Lake Lut Tawar, enjoying the serene view and the cool breeze. My grandmother cooked delicious traditional dishes for us, and we gathered around to share stories and laughter. We also visited a coffee plantation to learn about the famous Gayo coffee.

Reorientation:

Returning home, I felt a profound sense of warmth and happiness. The trip to Takengon was physically refreshing, but spiritually incredibly rewarding. It strengthened my family bonds, deepened my appreciation for nature's beauty, and provided a fresh perspective on life. The memories of enjoying my grandmother's cooking, the stunning views of Lake Lut Tawar, and the peaceful moments spent with family will forever remain etched in my heart. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

My home, my castle

By : SYAHIRA

As I step through the front door, I feel a sense of relief wash over me. My home is my sanctuary, my castle. It's where I can escape the stresses of everyday life and be myself. The warm glow of the lamps, the soft hum of the air conditioner, and the familiar scent of my favorite cooking spices all combine to make me feel like I'm exactly where I'm meant to be.

I've spent countless hours making this house my own, from painting the walls to choosing the perfect furniture. Every detail, no matter how small, has been carefully considered to create a space that reflects my personality and style. It's my haven, my refuge from the world outside.

As I settle into my favorite armchair, surrounded by the people and things I love, I feel a deep sense of contentment. This is where I belong, where I can let my guard down and be myself. My home is more than just a place to live; it's a reflection of who I am and what I value.

In my castle, I'm the king, and I get to make all the rules. I can lounge around in my pajamas, watch my favorite TV shows, and enjoy a cup of coffee in peace. It's my own little kingdom, where I can escape the chaos of the world and recharge for the challenges ahead.

As I look around my home, I'm filled with a sense of pride and gratitude. This is my castle, and I'm grateful for every moment I get to spend here. Whether I'm relaxing after a long day or entertaining friends and family, my home is always a place of joy and comfort. It's my sanctuary, my haven, and my castle.

It was part of our weekend family trip.

Events
We departed from home in the morning by motorcycle. The weather was sunny and perfect for a beach trip. When we arrived, the beach was not too crowded. I played in the sand with my siblings and walked along the shoreline. The waves were gentle, and the view was amazing.
