The fact that it's foldable makes it easier to pack. If you're travelling and need to bring a mouse, the round shape might not fit well in your bag. Hence, a foldable mouse would be more suitable in that case.

2. The small slot in the foldable half of the mouse has a magnet stored in it, so the USB receiver stays in the slot unless purposely taken out. When using a wireless mouse, losing the receiver is always a concern as it's small and easy to misplace; especially if you travel with it.
