Gaztelugatxe is an islet on the coast of Biscay belonging to the municipality of Bermeo, Basque Country (Spain). It is connected to the mainland by a man-made bridge. On top of the island stands a hermitage (named Gaztelugatxeko Doniene in Basque; San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Spanish), dedicated to John the Baptist, that dates from the 10th century, although discoveries indicate that the date might be the 9th century. With another small neighboring island, Aketze, they form a protected biotope that extends from the town of Bakio until Cape Matxitxako, on the Bay of Biscay. The best seasons to visit are spring and autumn.

San Sebastian, or Donosti (the Basque name) is a great place which offers many activities to do. You can enjoy a nice walk along the promenade enjoying the views (as you can see in the picture Diana uploaded together with the task). Also you can visit the aquarium, which contains many different fish species and a walking tunnel with lots of different sharks. But, the best is the old part of the city where you can go shopping and taste the different pintxos (small tasty snacks). They could be a bit expensive, but it´s definitely worth it. Here you are the official San Sebastian Tourism website, where you can find more information for your assignment:http://www.sansebastianturismo.com/en/ Hope it´s useful.

The Basque Country is not very big but it has lots of amazing things to see and to do, for instance, if you like nature the Basque Country is the best place for you: for those who like the sea, there are beautiful beaches in lovely places such as San Sebastian (La Concha and Zurriola beaches), Zumaia, Zarautz, Getaria, Gorliz, Getxo, Mundaka (La Arena beach), Gernika (Laida and Laga beaches), Hendaye, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Biarritz (those three are in the French part); and for those who prefer the mountains, there are spectacular mountains (Aizkorri, Aralar, Gorbea, Aitxuri or Amboto mountains, among others) and great natural parks (Aizkorri-Aratz, Valderejo, Urkiola, Pagoeta or Urbasa natural parks, among others).

The murals we have here in Vitoria-Gasteiz remind me to my visit to Philadelphia (US). We do not have as many as in Philadelphia (Vitoria is a small city), but there are guided tours and tourists love to take pictures of the murals: http://www.muralismopublico.com/p/en/guided-mural-tours.php

VITORIA GREEN CAPITAL

I think that even if San Sebastian is probably the most turistic city in the Basque Country, there are other great places to visit. As Alba mentiones, Vitoria-Gasteiz is a nice place to visit, not only because of the murals and achitecture, but also because of its landscapes and green areas. Indeed, Vitoria got the European green capital award in 2012, which means that in has wonderful environmental policies and sustainability plans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgln73WTceU

New Orleans, USA

New Orleans is one of the most interesting places to visit in the US. Located in the American South in Louisiana, New Orleans was founded by the French. French influences can be found in the food - a blend of Creole, Cajun and Southern soul food - and the traditions, such as Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday) is a festival in February characterized by fanatical costumes, jazz music, food and parades. The whole city comes together to celebrate this each year. Jazz is also very important to the city as New Orleans is known as the birthplace of jazz. See below for two videos about the best sights to see and foods to try in New Orleans.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4nTL3x-Kbc
