A rule that I plan to practice this term would be Rule #9, which is "Be happy whenever you can manage it. Enjoy yourself. It's lighter than you think." What this means to me is that we should try to always be happy and enjoy life instead of worrying about things that might not happen. Only start worrying if it really happens. I chose this participle one out of all the rules is I use to be very pessimistic when it comes to things and I always overthink about a situation. This made my brain always think that nothing good will ever happened but I slowly realized I was the one deciding how my day would be. Whether it was a happy and sunny day or dark and gloomy day. Over the pass months I be trying to think positive and keeping a good attitude towards everything and that's why I liked this rule the most out of all of them.

I rule I disagree would be Rule #2, which states that the "General duties of a student: pull everything out of your teacher. Pull everything out of your fellow student. The part I disagree is pull everything out of your teacher. During winter I read this short story talking about a student perspective and a professor perspective of "college" and the professor said that 4 years is a short period to get ready for what is waiting for students in the real world and that why we want grab as much as we can before we leave and that exactly wat the rule is telling us to do. The professor said that college is a romantic place because someone in that building right in front of you can be curing cancer or a student can be brainstorming an idea that can change the way we live for the next decade. College should be a place for students to search and get to know more about themselves, so that's why I disagree. (Just stating my own perspective)

I think apple was really successful with their company logo because of the clear and simple style they choice. I really enjoy how it is easy to remember this logo because it is an apple, but the detail of the right side of the apple being curved in and the leaf on the top makes the apple stand out more. In a regular image of an apple it either full or has a bite on the side but apple's logo doesn't seem like a bite but it is curved inside so that's what is it special and easy to differ from a apple image. Also on every apple product we can easily find their logo it makes it hard to forget.

I personally think Ford did a good job on their logo because I like how it stands out when I am on the road because of the bright blue color. Car logo are usually silver or with less color but Ford's Logo is very noticeable plus the detailed of the wording. The word Ford on their logo looks like cursive but when we look closer it looks more like words that are just connected together it unusual forms. We rarely see the letter o connected to the r the way the logo was it and that's what grabbed my attention.

When looking far away from this logo we can see the bell and the bright color. Taco Bell logo did a good job of choosing these two color because the color the purple helps makes the pink appeal bright and the outline of the white helps us focus on the shape of the bell. The yellow add detail so the two color doesn't look too plain making a perfect match for a fun, easy to remember logo.

It is not difficult to remember and I also really enjoy how each bag has this logo making it even harder to not remember their logo. I also think that the MK really stand out in the circle making appeal bigger.

I really don't understand this logo, like why is there a arrow sticking out at the top right side??? It really bothers me to see this logo. It makes no sense and it just sticks out of no where. What is the meaning behind that arrow?? Will that arrow makes me remember Volvo car. It doesn't. I an only remember how weird it is. Something I also dislike is this shade of grey. It looks dull but at the same not dark enough and it looks like they wanted to make it shinny but I isn't shinny enough.

I don't like Starbucks logo because I think that the logo is too different from what they sell. I don't see anything that shows "coffee" on their logo. Nothing never selling coffee. I really don't understand why.

Another logo I do not understand why. Boba Guys' logo makes me think of going to a zoo and buying their drink and on the bottle of the drink they have a logo that looks similar or just like Boba Guys. Why is there an animal drinking boba? What are you trying to refer to? Is there something you are doing that has to do with animals? This confuses me the most. Your goal is to serve high quality boba but that has nothing to do with your logo.

They is nothing special about this logo that makes me think "wow what a nice a idea" compared to other logo for other companies.

This reminds me out bamboo and bandage fingertips and both doesn't give me any joyful memory since bandage fingertip make me think of zombie or the walking death and bamboo remind me of Asian moms with a bamboo stick chasing after their kid/ I also don't like how there is a lot of empty space in the letter. I like how it is simple and the tight spacing between words but not touching each other. I like this feeling because it is not to crammed but there is not a huge gap between each word and letter. It saves space to put other words and I can't see well without my glasses big bold text helps a lot.

Overall. I really enjoyed this project because I has a lot of fun rethink and trying new things out for Illustrator. I took a digital art in high school and we mainly used Illustrator and I was kind of sad that the pandemic hit and I couldn't sped more time on it. If I had to do something different about this project would be to put a little more time on my personal logo because when I was reflecting on my own work I thought that I could of spend a little more time on my top 5 personal logo and turn them into digital. One thing I would also do would be the scanning tooling where Lisa showed us in class. I done mostly everything by hand so I didn't get the chance to use the scanning or tracing out an image. I think it was very cool but while I was creating my logos I didn't find anything I thought looked nice with them.
During the critique, I saw a different size of who my artwork could of went and the thing I could improve on and I think those were every good comments. I actually went and go change my company logo because I remember it was Lisa who said that if one of my logo I changed the line on the bottom into a book or show more of Forward Publishing it would look ever better and once she said this I had this idea in my head. I just had to go try it out and I do like it better than my previous final company logo. I think out of all my classmates artwork, I enjoyed Asia's logo the most because I like all kinds of flower and both of Asia's logos has some sort of flower with them and she also stuck to the keywords of the company logo which appear to the audience what she was trying to show about this company. Overall, I really enjoy my very first critique. I show amazing artworks and had very useful comments for my own artwork.

What makes a good tutorial?
I think a good tutorial would include good content with a clear visual. Good content meaning that it is easy to understand what the person is trying to inform the audience. Clear visual meaning that we can see clearly what he/she is trying to show us, while they are explaining it. I think these are important when it comes to tutorials because the audience is unclear on something and wants to learn but if we can't understand or see well with the graphic if would a very hard time for the audience to understand how to use the product.

This tutorial is rather simple but very detailed in how to cut things out from an image and how to correct your mistake. I think it was very informative and it was easy to follow since its my first time using this program. This was also very helpful because I was planning to cut things out from my images for the project. I choose this tutorial because this is what I needed help on the most rather than other cool tutorials on how to make things glow or cutting things out, etc. Those tutorial seems very cool and very difficult for me to follow along
(2) Photoshop: How To Cut Out an Image - Remove & Delete a Background - YouTube

Tools:
The move tool: this tools is pretty straight forward. This tool moves things around. In the beginning I thought this was to move the screens around but I was wrong.
Magnetic Lasso Tool: this can help trace and outline someone you want on an image and you don't have to be precious with the tracing. The computer can detect the color difference from the edge of the object, you want to trace. A con would be if the background and the object color is too similar the computer might have a hard time and then you have to go in yourself.
Eyedropper tool is very helpful when you want a color from an image, the eyedropper can like scan the color you want and then you can use that color, unlike Illustrator it's a harder process, but in Photoshop it is very easy.
Lasso Tool: similar to the magnetic lasso tool but less precious, but faster. If the object I was trying to cut out and the background is rather dark and easy to see the difference then this tool would help save a lot of time.
Pen Tool: This is the same tool I used in Illustrator and I can create shapes I want with this tool. That's kind of basically what this tools does. It can be tricky when using it, but with practice then it get easier and easier.

In Photoshop, I think the lasso tools are amazing when I only want this pacific things from this image and it does the job so well. The eyedropper tools saves so much time, instead of going to the color section and trying to find the right shade of color this tools can help me find the shade of color from the image in less than a minute, and that surprised me. The move tool would be something that is useful and sometimes a burden because less mistake error but more use of time, in my opinion. Sometimes when I was trying to move something I had to press the move tool then I can move it, but at the same I wouldn't accidentally moved something I didn't want to move, so pro and cons on the move tool. Something that inspired me, that has nothing related to the project would be to photoshop image I taken in the pass. If I was project related then it would be some of the tutorials I watched gave me some idea of the background and style I want to try out but I am still in the process of thinking and trying things stuff out. I don't actually know what I want but I hope everything goes together in the end. Overall, had a fun time trying new things and giving me anxiety at the same time.

I love how the curtain and the flower go together and how she choose this curtain. The way she placed the flower don't look like it was shuck onto it but rather it is growing out of the curtain, which makes it artwork so beautiful.

Since the whole photoshop is over, I would say this time was not the greatest for me. The project was very meaningful because a pandemic doesn't happen very often and this is a period to remember. I just wished it was not on Photoshop though. I had such a hard time using the program, nothing was being nice to me. Since I was so use to using Illustrator, when it I was thinking of idea and sketches I had more of a create rather than using images. This was kind of hard for me in the beginning. I had to rethink of ideas in my head. After finishing the sketches I had to learn how to use photoshop. The tutorials looks easy but when I tried them myself it didn't seem so easy anymore. I didn't like what came out so I deleted and restarted everything. It went on and on, nonstop. I wish I knew how to use things in Photoshop and also be able to understand the tutorials well.

Yuri on Ice
Man, let me tell you LOVED watching it. I like most about this anime, beside it is a BL, is the ice skating competition. I love how realistic it is, I feel like it was in real life and I bet it was hard to draw all the details of the dancing and spinning of the dance on skates. It was elegant and graceful and I love the content of the anime. It talks about Yuri, main character, being back on skates with Victor, who Yuri admires so much, and winning competitions. I can't wait for season 2, god bless there will be a season 2. Also, they are so cute together.

I absolutely love the characters, there is no favorite. I also love how there is also a laugh to the characters. One of the main character is a math teacher plus a gangster, more like just the first episode but the teacher wears a teddy bear t-shirt and he knock out a group of people by himself and that is hilarious to me.

Cats again and I usually use this GIF when I am ending a conversation because I usually don't know what to say when there is nothing to say anymore so I send them this as a reply. I think this works because the other people knows I saw it and I replied them so it doesn't seem like I am ignoring them and then the other person text me again and stuff like that. Plus I loves cats and they are so cute.

An GIF I enjoy watched would be SpongeBob and Squidward because first this show brings back a lot of memories when I was young. I can still remember till today someone telling me watching SpongeBob will make you stupid and I actually believed in him. I think back and I did don't know if I should believe in him or not. Second this also shows SpongeBob and Squidward characteristic right on the spot. SpongeBob's role is like the child we used to be when we were younger and Squidward is like how we are when we are a teenager or when we are an adult. SpongeBob is fun and cheerful, just like in the GIF were a flower decoration around his head, spreading love, and Squidward is like get this sponge away from me. In real life, if a person was like SpongeBob and acted similar I would have the expression like Squidward and would be annoyed by him but actually we were once like SpongeBob too; annoying, cheerful, full of energy... Maybe that's why even though SpongeBob is childish we still love watching the show and like to use all the funny GIF of SpongeBob and other characters in the show SpongeBob.

In my own GIF, I did something rather different. I made my GIF dark and gloomy but made the little girl pink to represent bright and young. I made this GIF because I hope when I am feeling down there is someone like the little girl that is around me trying to cheer me up. I knew I wanted to use Procreate to create my GIF because I want to be use to using Procreate because I plan on making my animated video on Procreate. Something that didn't work as well for me was I choice the wrong canvas for my GIF. I choice screen size and that was way to big for my drawing. I drew only like 1/4 of the whole screen size, so what I did was screenshot each layer and I put them into GIFHY to finalize my GIF. Something that did went well was I got to get use to duplicate layers and make onion skins to layer to make draw way more efficient and save a lot of time.

My first draft are with the pink and red on the little girl but I didn't like the red on the girl. I think it doesn't match with the little girl so I took it out in the end. The other two is just screenshot of some layer I made and used. You can see that I didn't use the whole canvas just half of the canvas and this looks weird when I was making a GIF because it looks too empty.

During Tanya's visit lecture, something that I thought was very meaningful would be one of the artwork she explained during the lecture. Which would be the one will all the women and the artist got the inspiration from a picture she found. I don't remember the name of this piece but I thought that is idea was very unique. The women in the image were all so beautiful and the things they were wearing was also very different and eye-catching in a way that grabbed by attention right from the start and later in the lecture I saw the flags. Flags always represent something and I think that went really well with the idea of the women and the place they choice to take the images. I think something that also caught by attention was the exhibit Tanya showed and I thought that everything inside was just so beautiful and I wish I could go see it in person. The colors and how everything was placed was very interesting. I like the room with the video because it feels like I was in a movie theater. I also remember I saw the rainbow floor, with the sun light shining through the glass, I think, and the reflection of the rainbow on the floor looked so magically to me. Overall, I think this visit lecture was very cool and I enjoyed Tanya explaining the things she does for these art exhibits.

(2) Fresh Guacamole by PES | Oscar Nominated Short - YouTube
This is video is a stop motion video, Fresh Guacamole, by Adam Pesapane (PES) and was nominated for 2013 Academy Awards For Best Short Film. The first shortest film to be nominated, at on minute and 41 seconds. This video is a stop motion of home made guacamole and PES didn't use the actual ingredient but just objects to represent the ingredients. What worked about the film was how Pesapane used object to represent things in the kitchen. For example, salt and pepper, he used chess pieces and a grenades' to represent avocado. I think that was very clever and why it is so interesting to watch. The audience have to take a second to think what the dice or golf ball stands for. Also the lighting of the stop motion film is absolutely perfect and incredible, this made the video very life like and realistic, it makes audience think that we actually use chess piece and golf balls to make guacamole. The sound I the video is very sharp and clear. I feel like it makes the video more realistic. It sounds just like how I would if I was cutting onions or picking up the cut food. That's why I enjoy this video so much and love re-watching it. In an addition, PES also have other work that are also amazing and creative that I enjoy also.

During the critique, I really enjoyed watching everyone's animated video but they were all so interesting and fun to watch, for example I enjoyed River's vampire night of day because it must have taken her a lot of time into her video and the outcome of it was amazing. She is very skilled in her drawing and she can totally make a serious of her vampire story. Something I learn or realized in my own animated video was time management because I realized that some of may frames went too fast for the audience to stop and think before the next frame, I can work on that a little more. I kind of knew it might be little to fast but I wasn't able to think of a way to make some frame longer than the others in Procreate and when I finally thought of a way to make some frames longer than others, it was the day for me to present. If I had more time or change something next time I am going to make a animated video I would work on the timing and the probably the sound. I wanted to add like a music in the background so it doesn't seem too dry but I couldn't think of any good songs to go with the my day in a life of ghost. I think I should of ask a friend for some advice and I probably wasn't looking hard enough so if I had the chance next time I would focus most on time and sound of the video. Overall, the critique was fun and had lots of laugher, loved it and can't wait for the next project.

A sounds that brings incredibly memories would be a song called "Psycho" by Red Velvet because this song brings a lot of memories of my trip to LA with my friends. It was just released during out trip and my friend is a huge fan of Red Velvet, so she would always play it on her phone when we came back to the hotel. To be honest, the song is not bad, I really enjoy the melody and the MV. The MV is based on the move Black Swan and the idea of the members in Red Velvet represents different stages of the Black Swan and put them all together to show how the black swan took over the other side of her and became in control of her.
I believe that sounds is a very important sense because without sound, our whole world would be soundless and to imagine that happening must be so difficult for someone who has been able to listen since birth. Imagining a life of no music and no way to understand other people, must be really hard.

Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which information meant to stimulate one of your senses stimulates several of your senses. The cause of Synesthesia from birth or develop in early childhood. Research say this can be due to generically inherited. An example of Synesthesia would be being able to know what a yellow wall may taste like, while looking at the yellow wall. There are many type of Synesthesia, for example
Grapheme-color synesthesia, where you connect letters and days of the week with colors, there is sound-to-color synesthesia, number-form synesthesia, etc. There is no treatment for Synesthesia, but many people do enjoy having Synesthesia. I feel like I don't have synesthesia because when I was reading over what it was I can't think for anytime these conditions or symptoms happened on me. I personality would not mind if I do have some kind of Synesthesia but because I don't have any I prefer to not have any. I am happy with how I am currently.

A favorite sound I enjoy listening to would be rain. Rain sound makes me feel really calm and I can be in my little world. I usually listen to it when I have a hard time falling asleep. Listening to rain sounds helps with sleeping and when ever I listen to rain sound I tell myself to stop thinking and just keep a blank mind. I started to listen to rain sounds a few year back, in high school I think, when I was having a hard to fall asleep at night, due to stress, and I remember watching a video or reading a post on how listening to rain will help with sleeping, so the next few nights I remember listening to rain sounds. After that I start to have the habit of listening to rain when I can't fall asleep. Not only that but later whenever I am very emotional or when I am angry I would also listen to rain sound to calm myself down. Once I am complete calm down then I would start to come back and my brain would start to work again.
