exploring space will increase our knowledge on space. this might seem overkill however, this will help us in the future, where global warming might get to a state where it forces us to evacuate to other planets. If we have enough knowledge on space and planets through expeditions, we might locate a planet that is habitable.

In contrary to what is popularly believed, money spent on space exploration does not nebulously float out of earth (on the other hand, distributing this money among the poor would breed complacency among them and cause the money to literally float out). It plays a major role in creating new technologies, products, jobs and businesses. Let us take the example of NASA here:

Space exploration has led to development of many things that you use daily. There wouldn’t have been any computers, wrist watches, Velcro, cell phones, GPS navigators etc, if funds were never allocated to the “wasteful” space research. Without this, there is a chance that you wouldn’t have heard of solar energy, cryogenics or even robotics. Also, several improvements in health care, energy and the environment are a result of research done for space exploration. [1 ].

When you think of all this, $73 Million seems like an extremely small number. Remember, that this is also helping other businesses (vendors etc) flourish, which in turn are creating jobs for the poor and spurring innovation.

First off: The most widely used argument that DOES NOT support space exploration is: "We have too many problems on Earth, so why go into space?". This statement makes me cringe. While there are many problems on Earth, a lot of them can be solved using the technologies that we develop for space exploration. An example of this is NASA's help on research into cancer and preventing, treating, and even curing it. According to NASA's website (http://www.Nasa.Gov/pdf/268137main_AARP_IPP_FACTSHEET.Pdf), they have done several things to contribute into cancer research such as develop technology that helps detect cancer in breast tissues.

The second biggest argument is "It is too expensive. We should be spending space program money helping the needy." While it is true that the poor need help, over ten times more of the US's National Budget for 2014 has gone into welfare than into space exploration. So why isn't welfare too expensive? We seem to be spending a lot more on it than space exploration as it is.

Space Exploration also gives the opportunity to one day, save mankind, and also benefit it greatly.
Take one of Saturn's moons, Titan. It has enough lakes and oceans of natural on it to allow humanity to function for thousands of years with new technology. Plus, space exploration also creates lots of green technology, so that we may never need to use the resources on the moon. How would we get to Titan? Funding space exploration. How would we develop these green technologies? Funding space exploration.
Back to saving mankind:
There are thousands of near-earth asteroids that could one day pose a threat to human civilization. Back in 2013, the Chelyabinsk meteor struck Russia, killing many people and causing millions or even billions of dollars of damage.
This was a 20 meter diameter meteor.
Events like this, could, in the future be prevented by funding space programs and having them have more of a budget that is able to be used developing technology to prevent meteor strikes by changing the orbit paths of the asteroids so that they do not strike Earth.
Thank you for reading my argument.
The NASA program has done incredible research in its time. So I think Obama should stop worrying about North Korea, and put another man on the moon. Why, you ask? Because we can. Space is way more important than education. And if we need to evacuate Earth, why not in space?
Most people complain about the waste of time and money. In reality we are constantly advancing in our space program and there is no telling how many amazing things we still have to discover in space. An addition to that is, that the NASA program only uses a tiny percentage of the money given to the program ( less then .4%)
People are too vulnerable on Earth. Anything can happen - the Sun can threaten us, asteroids, and so many other things. The resources are being widely used and some day people will be left almost without anything for living. In order to preserve humanity and our home world we need to find new homes.
We've learned that there's water on moon, which means there is a possibility of existence of life. That in no way is a waste of money.
We never know what lies beyond our galaxy, a whole new galaxy of humanoids who have the cure for cancer? Or a planet full of renewable coal and petroleum?
We can make it an affirmative statement by seeing it ourselves. And if that's not worth it, I don't know what is.

It's better because you sleep there and you also get to fly in the space station. Then you get used to the sleeping, eating, and playing, and it's also important to visit more places in space and it's also better to get used to the stuff that you are supposed to do
The leading cause of more jobs mainly comes from space exploration. With different technologies like fire-proof suits and grooved landing grounds/gear, over 1,000,000 jobs are made because of it. Although it costs money, time and risks, more efficient motors and safety gear can reduce flaws in fuel pipes and cost less money. The leading cause of more jobs mainly comes from space exploration. If humanity stays on this planet and does not do anything in space, we wouldn't last much longer than a hundred more years or so especially if you take into account the rapid increase in population. We must travel else where to accommodate the children of the future.
The government spends lots and lots of money on the military (in the billions), on getting better guns, better air forces, better weapons. From space earth is really small. From space earth is really fragile. Sometimes I think it would be a good thing to put our place in the universe into perspective.

If global warming overcomes the planet, mars could be a backup. Rockets are fueled by money. Also, there is the question of extra-terrestrial life and promoting scientific research. "There are two possible outcomes, and neither of them are comforting. Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not."
There are already 7.5 trillion people on earth with 15,000 births per hour. For the first crew alone to go it will be 6 billion dollars. It's a much better use of their money to explore what we don't know. It's part of our education, learning about things we don't know. We don't know what's out, millions of miles away. Why not reduce the military budget, just a little bit, and explore more? It wouldn't even cost as much to explore as it would to spend on military.

Production of these product leads to redevelopment, sales and distribution - all of which leads to more jobs; somebody has to build, sell, and repair.

One last point, we know that Russia and China have both put men in space and now even more countries are getting involved. Obviously we have seen the power of Google Maps (and that is only at the civilian level). Imagine now, that other powerful countries have satellites to spy on us and can position weapons directly above our country, dont you think it would be a good idea to be abloe to stave that off. If we decided to stop "wasting" money on space programs, we can say goodbye to many new developments that will be out of reach of garage scientist and we can expect to be overwhelmed with visitors in the skies above the US.

Did you know that to build a space elevator (a space-platform constructed with the intent of lifting substances into Earth's orbit) would only cost $40 billion with 100% contingency, and half that for the baseline construction cost? There are endless possibilities, ranging from solar energy farms to revolutionary and cheap intercontinental transportation. Imagine a solar farm, capable of harvesting the solar winds; this translates to an unlimited supply of energy for not just the United States, but the entire world! The human race is changing, and expanding. Soon, the Earth will simply not be big enough and we need to start considering our future as a species.

There are issues that do plague us as a race. There is poverty and injustice in the world. While these issues exist and should certainly not be ignored, the funds put forth to space exploration have a quantifiable impact and are no less of a priority. These problems will likely not be solved by the evolution of invention and space exploration alone, but as technology improves so will the lives of every man, woman, and child regardless of gender, skin color, or wealth. Space exploration needs focus and funding, it is representative of our future, and will secure it. Space exploration is arguably the single-most important investment we could possibly make.

However indirect they might be, the advances would not have come were it not for the space programmes of NASA, as there would have been no technological need. Space exploration gave impetus to projects that have been useful, as well as providing valuable scientific knowledge. For example, the laser-targetting of mirrors left on the moon by Apollo astronauts helps test and understand basic physics, which in turn leads to advances in very earthly things like electronics, hyper-conductivity, etc.

Anyway, space exploration absolutely does give us a direct benefit. When space technology has advanced far enough, we will be able to leave this planet in large numbers and live among the stars. This will solve our population/environment/resource/energy problems for a long, long time. It may take centuries, even millenia, but we will not get the technology without experimenting with it.

Some developed countries have been involved on big project of Space Expedition by spending much budget. Some people believe that it will be able to be very useful for development of science in the future. The others, however, disagree that space program will provide more disadvantages than advantages for the human race. This essay aims to explain above debatable topic.

Nations allocate its money to support Space Exploration and show people up that the countries have the most modern technology. In addition, Space Exploration can also give more information for people about whatever is out of the Earth, so it will have completed available knowledge and can decrease their curiosity. Another one, the people can prevent some problems or threats in the future by understanding reports which they have from result of the program. For example, the experts can predict that a big meteor which can probably destroy the earth will come after learning its signs. Therefore, the countries all around the world can work together to find out a new planet to stay.

On the other hand, some recent issues have not been completely finished such as climate change, poverty, homeless, and famine on which governments should focus more than the Space Expedition. They are able to use the resources to accelerate for declining the problems after formulating solutions. This prevention tends to lead to real impacts in short time. For instance, the local council can use national income to create new programs such as giving capital for poor families to open a business, establishing new work fields for employees, and building new apartments or flats for homeless. They will be able to increase public welfare and rescue more people life.

No one has ever said that space was not meant for us to cross, who is to say that the oceans were meant for us to cross into America? How many men died crossing the ocean to the Americas and other contintents? Much more then seven I can bet you, but I am not saying their death was pointless and for waste. They knew the risks, and they took it for the sake of knowledge.
It is also not meaningless, how is it meaningless? Many many many technologies have come out of it. (See The Largest Benefits)
Beyond the side effects, which were revolutionary in and of themselves, we may need Space more than we think. We all know, unless we're dillusional, that our planet won't last forever (found out through Space exploration, BTW), and that how long it lasts relies heavily on our surrounding environment. The more we know about out own Galaxy, and even just the Universe, the safer we can potentially make out planet. Besides, if we're not carefull, we're going to be emigrating to one of those planets out there sooner than we think. Where would we be if Earth became uninhabitable and we, having cut our Space program, were unable to find a substitute?
