Most children only pay attention when they need to or if they are interested in the topic being discussed. It is said that most kids have a hard time with memory because they lose focus easily. In this case, Susie is having a hard time in school and is disinterested which leads to her having a hard time in recalling facts that she had previously known. From what we have learned in chapter 7 she is having a hard time with explicit memory. Recalling, recognition, and the test that you take in school rely on explicit memories.

(Coon, 2019; Mitterer, 2019; Martini, 2019).

Although Susie is outgoing and enjoys group activities, according to her school psychologist, she is insecure. Susie may have low self-esteem. Because Susie normally goes along with the crowd during playtime, she does not consider the consequences of her actions. Although Susie's grades are good and she is a bright student, she may still see herself as worthless or a failure since at home, she has not received appraisal for her strengths and weaknesses. So her confidence in herself has not been secure.

(Coon, 2019; Mitterer, 2019; Martini, 2019)

In this study on 3 -year old boys and girls, it was determined that children who were subjected to corporal punishment on a regular basis, were more likely to show aggression toward their peers when they reached school age. This aggression could be in the form of bullying, stealing or physical aggression toward their peers. Girls were affected differently than boys in this study. Boys showed signs of aggression toward peers at an earlier age than girls.
