Although most cases of domestic violence are never reported, on an average day more than 20,000 phone calls are made to domestic violence hotlines nationwide.

A study shows that the lifetime economic cost of intimate partner violence to the US population is $3.6 trillion. Similarly, in the US rape is the costliest crime to it's victims, totalling around $122,461 in medical costs, lost earnings, pain, suffering, and lost quality of life. For the countries 25 million victims of rape, this totals in $3.1 trillion in lifetime costs.

According to a 2020 survey by NAESV, more than half the nations sexual assault service providers have a waiting list for counceling services, with some wait times over 3 months. We could start a program that talks to around high school-aged kids, that informs them on; the cycle of abuse, and the tell-tale signs of toxic relationships, as well as giving them tips and resources on how to get out of such situations.

Although the United States already spends $3.6 trillion on domestic violence,we could lower the discretionary spending on things that arent exactly necessary and put that money into upping the mandatory spending in regards to domestic violence (and other related problems). We could use some of this money to help lower the burden cost on individual people. 

11,047 adults and children are still in need of resources to get help out of their domestic situations. In order to help get this number as low as possible, we have a couple of steps we may need to take. First; we will increase the number of refuges available to victims, making room for more people. Additionally, we will have to find more people (either volunteers, workers, or groups) to help assist the people that come to said refuges. Next; we will increase availability to the help.
