         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; TP5/&nbsp;<strong><em>Le charbon</em></strong></div><ul><li>Le charbon est créé à partir de biomasse enfouie dans le sol, généralement à plusieurs kilomètres de profondeur.&nbsp;</li><li>Il est composé d'hydrogène, de souffre d'oxygène et surtout de carbone. Chaque type de charbon (lignite, sous-bitumineux et bitumineux, anthracite) est classé en fonction de sa teneur en carbone.&nbsp;</li></ul><div>Les charbons de hauts rangs sont composés à plus de 70% de carbone.<br>&nbsp;</div><ul><li><strong>Les mines souterraines</strong>&nbsp;: les gisements peuvent s’étendre sur des milliers de km2, à plusieurs kilomètres sous la surface. Il s’agit d’abord de déterminer la qualité et la forme du gisement, puis de définir les techniques à utiliser pour l’abattage (l’extraction).&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Les mines à ciel ouvert</strong>&nbsp;: cette forme d’exploitation n’est possible que lorsque les gisements ne sont qu’à quelques dizaines de mètres de profondeur.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Le charbon: Le charbon est une énergie fossile. Le charbon a commencé à se former il y a 360 millions d’années. C'est un combustible fossile d’origine organique. Il est le résultat de la transformation de biomasse (résidus de forêts notamment) enfouie dans le sol au cours des temps géologiques. Le charbon est composé d’hydrogène, de soufre, d’oxygène et d'énormément&nbsp; de carbone. Le charbon est bien réparti sur la planète et ses réserves sont importantes; Il est un grand émetteur de CO2 et est donc une menace pour le climat de la planète. Le charbon fut la source d’énergie de la révolution industrielle du XIXe siècle. Le charbon est principalement utilisé dans la sidérurgie et dans les centrales thermiques pour produire de l’électricité. C'est le bois mort qui a donné naissance au charbon.<br><br></div>]]></description>
