         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Bullying is a pattern of negative behaviours that is meant to hurt someone else, or make them do something that they are not comfortable with.<br><br>- Can occur at any grade&nbsp;<br><br>- Typically occurs when there is an imbalance of power (person bullying has more physical or social power than the victim)<br><br>- 1 in 3 kids are affected by bullying (Statistics Canada)<br><br>- Of those students who reported being bullied, 13% were teased or name called; 13% were the subject of rumours; 5% were physically harmed; and 5% were excluded from groups or activities. *<br><br>- Common reasons for being bullied reported by students: physical appearance, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, disability, and religion. *<br><br>* Data taken from the National Centre for Educational Statistics</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>The story behind the Pink shirt Day:</em></strong><br>A grade 9 boy from a small town in Nova Scotia, once wore a pink shirt to school and got bullied for it. The bullies thought that pink is a girly color and not for boys, Other students stood up for him and wore a pink shirt to school too.<br><strong><em>Pink shirt Day awareness:<br></em></strong>Pink shirt day falls on the<em> last Wednesday of February every year. Pink shirt day and National Anti-Bullying week are a very purposeful celebrations that brings awareness of the negative and often violent effects of bullying.<br>we can all wear our support by following the Anti- Bullying code of conduct: Empathy,Compassion and Kindness.<br>According to CBC, Pink shirt day is a day </em>when people come together by wearing pink shirts to school or work to show their stance against bullying. It was inspired by an act of kindness of two Grade 12 students in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2007.&nbsp; The students organized a protest to support a Grade 9 student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt.&nbsp; The idea has spread across Canada and around the world to become an anti-bullying day.</div>]]></description>
