The tour started in the Egyptian exhibit and moved throughout various eras and continents that are on display. I’m not the biggest fan of Egyptian history but the way that it was laid out in the British Museum was fascinating. The statue of Ramesses II was very impressive as it’s  one of the largest pieces of Egyptian sculpture in the British Museum, Ramesses II who succeeded his father Sethos I in around 1279 BC and ruled Egypt for 67 years. The sculptor has used a slight variation of normal conventions to relate his work to the viewer, angling the eyes down slightly, so that the statue relates more to those looking at it.

I also really enjoyed the wall of brass plaques from Benin City in Nigeria (16th century) . Each plaque told a story and they had so much detail on them! The plaques consisted of: warriors, townspeople, royalty/gods, weapons and animals. 

In the future, I would like to visit the Asian section so I can learn even more history and different cultures.
