Before the consitution, there were articles which not all of the citizens agreed or complied with. With the consitution, there were several more systems to expand upon. For instance, there are different ways in which communities are run. Congress can overrule the president's veto on a bill with a two-thirds vote. There is the legislative branch, executive branch, and judicial branch of the government. There are also 27 amendments in the constitution, which include freedom of speech, right to arms, pleading the fifth, getting a lawyer in court, voting at the age of 18, allowing women to vote, right to not be personally searched or have privacy invaded excessively without consent, and drinking at the age of 21.

Elections have popular votes from citizens who are registered to vote, though there are cases in which there have been fraud or bribery. There are swing states that rely on popular votes in order to receive electoral votes. There are over 420 electoral votes, but a candidate only needs 270 of them to win an election. Electoral votes are from residents of specific states that are given the opportunity to contribute to the final decision. Electoral votes are what will get a candidate elected. Elections are held once every two years for the house of representatives and the senate. Presidential elections are every 4 years, as each term lasts 4 years. Judges can be given four to ten years in their job, depending on their level (there are associate, circuit, appellate, and supreme court judges).

Bias news is very common. Details may be left out and articles may be one-sided. The more popular news networks are from democratic states such as New York, Illinois, California, and Washington.

When it comes to writing essays, it is important to include indents for paragraphs of 5 or more sentences. The grammar and spelling may be checked multiple times. Wording should be concise and revised as much as possible.

A thesis statement often includes a claim or main idea. It may be implemented into an argument or story, and is stated in an introduction, linked back to throughout body paragraphs, and then restated in the conclusion.
