Al centro está Dante Allighieri; al lado izquierdo Petrarca, entre ellos Bocaccio; a la derecha se encuentra Gido Cavalcanti. Los laureles sobre las cabezas de los poetas más distinguidos representan sus logros literarios. En el extremos izquierdo están Landino y Ficcino. Sería importante notar los elementos que están sobre la mesa.

En esta época dicho continente es un laboratorio político en donde se fraguan los principios del Estado Moderno. A diferencia de las otras imágenes, vemos que el motivo sigue siendo histórico a pesar de que la pintura ha comenzado a independizarse de los temas bíblicos. Carlos V resulta entonces, un nostálgico, defendiendo una idea feudal de la Europa cristiana.
