Yes, I think I am a media literate person.

First of all, it’s about the critical thinking, when I get the information from the media, I will question the credibility then make the judgment or decision.

And second it is I personally understand the influence of the media, and this will directly expand the facts or rumors.

Third it is about the ability to identify misinformation; I will not easily trust the information which has not proved the reliability.

And also it is about the participation of the media, usually I critically participate the media content and seek the valid understanding of the information.

So, I think I am a media literate person.

1.I have the skills to effectively use technology to access a wide range of media resources. This includes finding and utilizing online articles, educational videos, interactive learning platforms, and digital textbooks to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

2.I can critically analyze media content, understanding its purpose, target audience, and underlying messages. This skill is crucial for teaching students how to discern credible information from misinformation, particularly in the context of digital media.

3.I evaluate media sources for their reliability and bias, which is important in guiding students to develop their critical thinking skills. Teaching students to question the credibility and intent behind various media sources is a key component of media literacy.

In conclusion, as an English teacher with a strong grasp of media literacy, I am well-equipped to navigate and teach in a technology-rich educational landscape.

Yes I am Alfiani Rif'atus Sholihah a Media Literate Person

To date, many scattered news in social media whether it is right or misinformation due to most people share particular information without filtering before conveying.

When i get some viral news, i do not genuinely take the information for granted. The way i used to do is looking for the entire video or authentic article which related to. If i do not discover the original resources, I try to discuss with some colleagues or friends is the news we are talking about relevant and right? i used to do so.

By doing that, I perceive a betterment of critical thinking of myself especially from social media that lots of information are existing. So, i consider that i am a media literate person.

1. Critical thinking: Media savvy persons can evaluate media messages. They ask why the information is being delivered, seek for bias or hidden motives, and evaluate the source.

2. Know Different Media: They know many media types well. It includes news, TV, movies, social media, and ads. They know platform rules and message delivery methods.

3. Be aware of media influence: Media-savvy people recognize that the media influences people's thoughts, feelings, and actions. Media themes effect people and society, and they know this.

4. Source Evaluation: These folks can identify trustworthy and unreliable sources. They fact-check and use many sources to ensure accuracy and impartiality.

5. Use technology: In the digital age, media literacy often requires the ability to use web tools, comprehend algorithms, and recognize fake news and misleading information.

Media literacy gives people the tools to navigate the complicated and ever-changing media world safely and successfully.

Yes, to a certain degree. if considering media literacy consists of 4 levels, which are Basic, Moderate, Advance and Expert. I would considered myself at the level of moderate. Moderate level of media literacy means that acquire sufficient knowledge of the ability to access and analyse media messages, create contents, and do reflections and actions in information and communication using technology.

Moreover, I have developed the skills to identify misinformation, distinguish between reliable andunreliable sources, and navigate the digital landscape with caution. Ethicalconsiderations surrounding media use, such as privacy and representation, have also been highlighted, prompting me to reflect on the ethical implications of media consumption and production.

Lastly, through this course, I have felt the passion and patiently kindness from Dr Surendran, especially the hand-in teaching style for guiding us to know more information of this course, I would like to express my sincere thank to Dr. Surendran.

What I know in general is that the teaching and learning process requires collaboration between teachers and students. Teachers should be able to provide clear instructions, explanations, and feedback to help students understand the material being taught. Similarly, students should be able to ask questions and actively participate in the learning process to improve their understanding of the subject.

However, for the Information and Media Literacy course, Dr. Ruth has provided comprehensive lectures and real-life examples on how to sort and choose information in the digital world wisely. Since the beginning of the first week of this course, I have been very impressed with Dr.'s ability to explain lessons in class. The language used is simple and can be understood by students from various circles and levels of English language skills. The lecturer has emphasized the importance of understanding information and media literacy, how to use fun and interesting learning media, and the main trends that affect information and media.

Throughout the following weeks, the lecturer has demonstrated a good understanding of the course while providing a conducive environment for us to learn and ask questions. So that we can understand relevant media concepts that can be used in later teaching and learning activities, Dr. also gave his lectures very clearly and concisely.

The conclusion I can give is that it is very important to teach and learn in a way that there is good interaction between students and teachers. It is also very helpful if learning is packaged with simple explanations that can be understood by all students with different abilities in English, so that we can get the same information from Dr. Thank you, Dr., for the excellent teaching that has been given to us from week 1 to week 6. Hopefully, we can gain more knowledge about information and media literacy with Dr. in the classroom.
