My students pleasantly surprised me with how well they did persevering through these problems. Most students did not want a hint and worked to solve and make sense of the tasks on their own. They collaborated well with their group/partners because they were so determined to unlock the box.
- Katie

The planning process when we all met was beneficial because we were able to talk through how the task would actually go and what details needed to be worked out. Having two boxes and several groups for this allowed students to work at their own pace and not feel rushed. As a co-teaching lesson, the collaboration helped to manage and check in on students as they worked and take note of the strategies being used.
- Katie

There were a few key participants during the community circle who were able to share and elaborate. I wish more people would have contributed to the discussion. I picked specific questions hoping that they would open up and dive deeper into a reflection. -Tori

I thought the class overall did an amazing job. They were told to open 3 locks, but all persevered to unlock four. The partners worked extremely well together and when one person was upset/frustrated, the other person gave them a pep talk. All students waited a pretty long time to ask for their "hint". Some groups didn't even use a hint. -Tori

With 2 teachers in the room we could appropriately guide and observe groups/individuals.
