Donatello's dad was a wood carpenter, and it is not known how her started his career, but most people believe that he learned how to sculpt from one of the sculptures at the church, (Britannica).

    "Donatello was asked to make this relief for a font at Sienna, which is where it is still housed. The use of perspective is what made this piece of art so popular over the many years it has been on display." (Totally History).

    This sculpture is showing a scene where it shows beheading and the head of john the Baptist after Salome asked for his head on a platter.
