Another group of people who responded to cyclone Debbie was both the Australian Red Cross and some tech experts. They teamed up to send drones which could provide emergency packages to isolated areas in need and assess damage and co-ordinate emergency responses. One person included in the project, Dr Patrick Meier, has told abc that the drones aren't going to take over traditional technology, but instead complement and help them.
