I guess my I wasn’t named, my name was passed down for me to have. Sara Dianne Johnson was passed down from as recent as each of my grandmothers. Sara originates from my mother’s history, Dianne from my father’s. interesting enough, I share the same initials as my father’s mother. My grandmother Sara is only a memory of my mother, she passed at an early age. I inspire to be as sassy and confident as my grandmother Dianne.

            I have a nickname, Sarabera!

I was almost Jason if I was a boy.

Sara means “lady” or “princess.” There are flowers, colors, gems, and days of the week that are considered “lucky” when associated with the name. The flower that appeals to the name Sara is The Lily of the Valley, or the colors green, purple and yellow. The gem’s Topaz and Cat’s eye are considered Lucky. Finally, the day Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday are the favorite days of the week.

Sara Dianne is an uncommon spelling, to most people I am known and Sarah Diane, they add an “h” and take away my second “n.” My name is unique in this way, of course my parents kept their families original spelling, but seems to cause a lot of confusion for those who see my name as something different then how I see it. It’s spelled of only letters that you hear.

My name is simple, and other wise easy to spell. So easy, no one remembered to teach me the spelling of my middle name until almost third grade, I was the only one who couldn’t quite sigh the letter we had wrote. The name is at memorable.

Johnson, a popular last name, is English, originates from Great Britain. Something Interesting, when my aunt married my dad’s brother, she never had to change her name. Her parents also have the name Johnson.

Growing up I was taught that it's correct to allow everyone the benefit of the doubt. As a teacher, I have to be a part of some many different religions.

This year we have two students that practice as Jehovah Witness. I am use to holiday's with the family as a time to be with family. At school we are unable to celebrate holidays in anyway, which is difficult for me. There are fun things we can do with the rest of the kids but, I almost fell bad for the kids who can't experience this. It is their parent's choice not theirs.

My family has a number of traditions. I have learned that traditions can't be broken, just modified. Things happen that our out of our control, and traditions might have to change but aspects of them can be kept. For example, my grandmother always says there is always something good to come out of what we don't like. I choose this picture from the past Thanksgiving. Three years ago my grandparents moved away from our favorite place. It led to a new tradition of Thanksgiving at the beach.

There is no book on how to deal with every specific situation in your classroom. Teaching brings students form all kinds of backgrounds and cultures. The most difficult thing is thinking on your feet and knowing the best ways to react to any situation a student might present to you. There is no way of knowing what is going to happen in your class and you have to constantly be prepared for it.

I choose "A Shy Girl, " honestly because that was the easiest thing for me to write on. I loved to talk to people but for some reason I had a hard time doing so. It's very interesting that this is what I thought of myself at 12 years old. If I were to write this now, I would think it would be a total 180. I describe myself now as outgoing, not really afraid of anyone.
