During my leisure time, i would fish with my friends. fishing could help me destress and clear my mind from all the schoolwork that i have been doing. For example, i usually fish once a week during the weekends when me and my friends and I are free. Fishing is a sport i enjoy as its therapeutic and fun. Usually People usually think it’s a boring hobby but for my group of friends it is what we enjoy to do. It has greatly impacted my life as i get to explore new places and new friends along on the way. Fishing also helps us improve our bonds as we get to talk to each other while fishing and talk about life. It trains our patience and resilience to as not all the time we could catch a fish. One experience i had  fondly remember while fishing was traveling two hours just to catch nothing but i still enjoyed the time i had with my friends. One time, me and my friends and I went to fish at Upper Peirce reservoir and we saw an abandoned boat. At first, we thought the boat was light enough to flip it over but once we tried to flip it, it was almost impossible to flip it. After much determination and teamwork, we found a way to flip that heavy boat over and pushed it into the water. We tied it to a tree branch so that it could not float away as we fished on it. At that spot, we found a huge frenzy of at least 3lbs fish. I think that the people in the video are having a whale of a time. I think that this carousel is located at Ang Mo Kio hub because there is a spacious space place in front of the mall. The carousel must be built during the June or December holidays as these are the best times for this carousel to be built as there will be many children going out with their parents as the children are finally freed from schoolwork,co curricular activities,remedial classes and tuition. This is also a good time for the parents and children in the videos to bond and spend time with each other to get closer to one another. I agree that families in SG do not spend enough time with each other.

Firstly, families have too many responsibilities. For children, they have to constantly endure / face long hours of school, which can be mentally and physically draining for most students. On the other hand, parents are working hard to make ends meet. Due to their hectic schedule, they may not have enough time to spend with their children in those precious growing up years times. For example, children have to attend CCA or tuition after school hours which will tire them out when returning home while parents may work overtime due to circumstances like staff shortages. Afterwards, they would want to call it a day because of the exhaustion and not spend that precious period of time together as they are oblivious to the fact that the time they have together is limited. Thus, the burden of too many responsibilities the responsibility of each family member's holds may be the reason as to why SG families are not spending as much time with each other. 

Not only that, families may not be as close to each other as a result of having different interests due to their generation gap. For example, the older generation mostly prefers classical music while the younger generation prefers more upbeat songs. Hence, finding a relatable topic to start a conversation about is highly unlikely. Thus, SG families may find it awkward and pointless to interact with one another and are not spending enough time together.

However, some would argue that families in SG do spend enough time together. In Singapore, it is common to see posters advertising family bonding events around the community facility such as lifts. The school also encourages family bonding by bringing in parents to spend time with their children by signing up for workshops and events together. For example, a show performed by students to their parents during Mothers’ or Fathers’ Day. This will create closer bonds between them and help them to interact with each other more, enjoying their time as a family as it is rare among some families because they are always busy

In a nutshell, i feel that due to Covid-19, it has affected many families due to its restrictions. However, lately, these restrictions have been uplifted and families are able to interact with each other more, especially the people with family members from overseas. 

Therefore, I agree that families in SG do not spend enough time together.

In my free time I would explore Singapore to find the most mouth-watering, delectable and sumptuous food to eat. Being a foodie all i think about is food and what to eat next. Usually i would visit places with my friends who are willing to go with me we would usually to visit places we see being advertised on social media. One time my friend and I visited this cafe we saw being advertised on social media for having really nice food and good service however my experience there was on the contrary. The service was slow and we had to wait for over an hour before we were served our food. To rub salt into the wound,To add salt to injury,  the food was cold and tasteless. I personally think that it is important to have hobbies as it allows us to relax and do the things we desire to do. For example, my most desired thing to do as a leisure activity passion is playing the piano. Ever since i was primary 2 when i started playing the piano, due to the influence of my mom. Whenever i am feeling bored or stressed i will go to the piano and play whatever song i want to. Having the chance to play the piano, I learned how to persevere and patience. This made me learn how to be calm when facing any challenges. When i was learning a new song, at first it was difficult as the song is very complex  due to the number of keys that we need to play. The favourite song I like to play is Moonlight Sonata as it is the most difficult song to play. But once I have mastered it, the feeling of achievement is indescribable and now, I'm hooked to learning to play more complex songs.

I think that the children on the carousel must be feeling very excited and overjoyed. The carousel is mostly filled with children and parents accompanying them, While The parents is are delighted grateful to be able to see their kids enjoying themselves and also unlock they can create new memories together.

It seems like this carousel is placed in the middle of the street near the town area and it was constructed most probably to celebrate Singapore’s birthday . I see an old couple filming and clapping ,cheering on their grandchild on the carousel. Both of them seem so happy knowing that their grandchild is having so much fun.

This reminds me of a time when i was younger and loved going to USS with my family and friends. I was just enjoying the time of my life on the roller coasters , carousels and other thrilling fun rides. i remembered when i was about 5 or 6 when i went on the Madagascar carousel in USS for the first time and I was so excited and I felt so fortunate to be able to gain this experience the sights and sounds of the carousel.

if i’m able go back in time, i would love to have one more ride on that carousel once more and indulge myself in with the happiness i felt on that ride, to relive my childhood.

I agree with this statement, as I feel that as to compared to other countries in the world, Singapores tourist attractions are limited and overpriced.
Firstly, as Singapore is a small country, there is limited land for attractions like amusement parks, and due to Singapore's modern/man-made natural landscape, there are no natural mountains as compared to Japans Mount Fiji which appeals to hiking lovers.
Secondly, Singapore is known to be one of the most expensive countries in the world. Because of this, certain tourist attractions are overly priced and may become a tourist trap. On the other hand, overseas attractions are less costly and are way more affordable for the same price as to compared to Singapore. For example, the Chiang Mai region in Thailand has one of the most popular shopping districts in Asia where one can buy branded goods at a much chepr price!

Yes I would enjoy going to a carnival as I love the thrill of going onto adrenaline-pumping rides. Whenever I visit these carnivals, I would always head straight to the rides that are being offered at the carnival regardless of whether they are only meant for kids or adults. I remember when I was younger I would always enjoy going to pop up carnivals, especially if they have the ride where they would elevate you all the way to the top while you are spinning round slowly. Being so high up In the air made me feel relaxed while enjoying the wind breeze past me.

Sadly, I do not have the leisure of visiting carnivals as i often as i did when i was a child. Due to my up coming O level examination, my schedule is packed with extra lessons and other tuitions that last till the late evening. Even if i do find free time for myself, i would choose to spend that time revising for my subjects instead of participating in outdoor activities. I think the children in the video feel ecstatic being on the carousel as the children are laughing and smiling. There are is also some children that are looking at the carousel in awe as carousels are rare in Singapore. I think that the carousel was set up in mall to celebrate National day. I disagree that children in Singapore have a happy childhood. Firstly, children in Singapore do not have enough time to enjoy themselves. Due to the competitive nature of our society, their parents usually sign them up for extra classes like tuition or extra curricular activities such as piano classes and ballet to make their children stand out from the rest. These extra classes take up almost all of the child’s free time, leaving them almost no time to spend time to play or even to relax.

Secondly, parents in Singapore have really high expectations of their children. Because of this, children try their best to achieve academic validation from their parents. To achieve such validation, they spend all of their free time studying so that they can do well in their exams. The stress that comes with such high expectations also tend to be unbearable at times. Students in Singapore regularly experience stress and anxiety when a test of exam approaches.

On the other hand, some may agree that children in Singapore have a happy childhood. (your explanation here has no link to 'childhood')  Children nowadays spend more time on their phones with means that they don’t have to leave their house that often. That saves them from having to waste energy to go out of their room. They may agree that their phones make them happy as that’s their only way of coping with all of the stress. In Singapore, there are many attractions and events catered to children and families. There are also many public and school holidays for children to enjoy a happy and memorable childhood.

Ever since the pandemic started, children have had a harder time catching up with the school work they missed out on because of circuit breakers and lockdowns. Because of this, they have to play 'catch up' in school and have less time for rest and relaxation. As a graduating student, I spend more time on tuition and supplementary classes to keep up with the rigour of the O levels.  This caused students to do worse compared to how they were doing in school before COVID-19 came about. A study conducted by BMC Public. The study reveals that 90% of the respondents have been affected by the shutdown and unable to perform normal work or studies at their institution for between 1 week to 2 months. While 70% of the respondents perceive negative impacts of COVID 19 on their work or studies, more than 60% of them value the additional time that they have had indoors with families and others.

Therefore, I disagree that children in Singapore have a happy childhood. Perhaps, with the removal of mid-year exams, students can be less stressed and experience the joy of learning.
