Bacillus Calmette-Guérin or BCG vaccine. It is designed to be a long-term primary preventative treatment for TB.
Targets virus
All children of Afghanistan must get a BCG vaccine because it is considered basic vaccination for the country. Even though it is required 35% of the population is infected with the respiratory disease.
It can be contracted by overcrowding, cold-conditions and can be transmitted through the use of a temporary shelter.
It is administered through one single shot.

There is a new vaccine, called R21, that is potentially an improved version of RTS,S. It is a preventive vaccine.
Targets a parasite known as Plasmodium
It is important to have it to prevent the serious and sometimes fatal disease that is transmitted through mosquitos. It is extremely common during warmer months.
It is contracted through mosquito bites and is the parasite plasmodium. It is a flu-like illness.
4 doses in children from 5 months of age for the reduction of malaria disease and burden

There are two oral cholera vaccines are available: Dukoral and ShanChol. The vaccine is preventive.
Targets the V. cholerae bacteria
It is important to help to prevent cholera and control cholera outbreaks. It often occurs in epidemics.
It is contracted by bacteria in water and food contaminated by feces. It spreads quickly in places with low-quality water treatment, unsanitary surroundings, and poor hygiene.
It is an oral or swallowed vaccine

Infection caused by a tick
There is no safe or effective vaccine widely used for CCHF.
Outbreaks have a 40% fatality rate and it can take weeks for symptoms to occur. Occurs from tick bites or the touching of livestock animals’ blood or tissue.
Symptoms include fever, myalgia, muscle ache, dizziness, neck pain and stiffness, backache, headache, sore eyes, photophobia, mood swings, and confusion.

Fever can be as high as 103 to 104°F (39 to 40°C). They also may have weakness, stomach pain, headache, diarrhea or constipation, cough, and loss of appetite. Some people have a rash of flat, rose-colored spots.

Two different vaccines to prevent the typhoid fever

- One is an inactivated (killed) vaccine and the other is a live, attenuated (weakened) vaccine

- Can affect all age groups, however it is mostly common within the younger age group
