         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jeremy Gaden has worked in Victoria’s creative sector for the last 20 years, and has a background in venue management, festival coordination, producing and organisational leadership. He has worked for a wide variety of arts organisations, including Melbourne Fringe, National Institute of Circus Arts, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, The Famous Spiegeltent and Melbourne International Arts Festival. Jeremy was Program Manager at Footscray Community Arts Centre from 2006-2009, where he oversaw many of the organisation’s large-scale community engagement projects. Jeremy was the inaugural director of The Substation in Newport, delivering the final a large infrastructure development and establishing its programming mix. Since late 2014, Jeremy has been Senior Manager, Partnership Programs at Creative Victoria where he oversees state government’s creative industries development programs, encompassing regional Victorian, Aboriginal, Social Impact, Education, and Contemporary Music programs. Jeremy has held numerous governance positions, including being a board member of Kultour, the Australian Circus and Physical Theatre Association, Arts industry Council of Victoria and Western Melbourne Tourism.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To address these questions, the notion of ‘open government’ will be introduced, including the work of Christian Bason, from Denmark’s MindLab, with students being asked to reflect on opportunities to increase public participation in the development of cultural policy.</div><div>The second half of the session will involve students working in small groups to further explore the various stages of the policy development cycle, with particular reference to a specific policy development challenge. Students will then engage in a facilitated discussion and feedback to the class their ideas and reflections on how each stage might be approached.</div>]]></description>
