The death penalty kills innocent people. Our misjudgement leads to rushed conclusions.

Indeed people change over time, especially criminals in jails and prisons. People who have served time in jail or prison come out a new person. They understand what they have done was unacceptable and move on from the past. “Actor Danny Trejo spent 12 years robbing stores, but now he only plays 'the bad guy' in movies,” Vivian Giang and Samantha Cortez stated.

"In relation to free will, some criminals are suffering from mental illness or are having clouded judgment at the time of the crime," accourding to Crystal Lombardo - Chief. Even though the illness might not be present we must assume there could be one.

"Maintaining each death row prisoner costs taxpayers $90,000 more per year than a prisoner in general population," a member from the deathpenaltyinfo page. $90,000 is a lot of money and is not being used correctly. Using taxpayers money on a death penalty case is not beneficial.

Attourney Quality is also a big factor. Most criminals are poor which leads them with a non-experienced defending attourney. "Perhaps the most important factor in determining whether a defendant will receive the death penalty is the quality of the representation he or she is provided. Almost all defendants in capital cases cannot afford their own attorneys. In many cases, the appointed attorneys are overworked, underpaid, or lacking the trial experience required for death penalty cases," a member from the deathpenaltyinfocenter said.

-Alex Homan

In this image you can see cops dragging away a person who is talking to one of the cops with a man in a suit walking behind them . But if you were to take a closer look you can see the cops taking the man to a small room with a chair that says gas chamber just above the entrance. It is images like this that proves that the death penalty is a good thing because in the dialogue the criminal says "But you can't do this! life is sacred!" and the cop replies with " Exactly!" and it is shown that the interaction that the criminal talking had killed someone and he was going to get executed. The artist most likely had wanted to show people why we do the death penalty because of the interaction between the cop and the criminal.

Prison does not significantly change the crime rate in the United States or put a stop to it. The one of the few ways to prevent these things from happening or decreases the chances is with the death penalty. The death penalty can save innocent lives from criminals that do not change their way and can also help decrease the crime rate significantly. Having the death penalty in all states and enforcing it can make a good difference in the United States.

We are in a generation where studies show that crime is out of control and we have to worry about crime and our safety towards others. The absence of the death penalty or not enforcing is a synonymous to crime rate increase.

The United States of America often has a lot of crime happening in the states a few being California and Texas which have the most crime and both have the death penalty but is very rarely used. The states that do not have the death penalty like minnesota and Iowa do have crime and their crime rate is not far behind from states that do have the death penalty as evidence show from the Neighborhood Scout. We need to control the crime and we are insane for not enforcing the death penalty. It can stop more than just murder, also arson, robbery, and rape yet People say that the death penalty is inhuman. If compared to what these criminals do it is no where close to inhuman.

According to a rough dozen studies from a article from the New York Times in 2007 “for each inmate put to death the studies say that 3 to 18 murders are prevented. While trying to eliminate the effects of crime rate, convictions rates and other factors say that murder rates tend to fall as executions rise.”

The death penalty is still cheaper compared to the cost of life without parole. Although there is no contention that the cost is high, life imprisonment is cumulatively higher given the expenses for food, health care and other cost of sustaining the lives incarcerated individuals serving life.

Crime is out of control and is getting harder to control every year, the only way to decrease crime and have better control over it is having all states have the death penalty and enforcing it.

-Nathan De La Torre

At first glance, you can see a man with a axe cutting a man in half behind him with a man bent over with a bag over his head. if you were to take a closer look you can see that it says "The state" on the executioners shirt, "The innocent" on the man who cut in half shirt, and "The guilty" on the wood under the person with a bag over their face. The title of the image is shown on the bottom right of it and the says "One small problem with the death penalty" based off of this title you would it would make you ask yourself is it good to have the death penalty. The artist most likely wanted to show why we can't have the death penalty because of what happens to the person behind the executioner.

-Gerardo Gutierrez
