         <description><![CDATA[<div>Defeat of the Spanish Armada<br><br>The British Empire starts and causes a great economic benefit for the British government and society by gaining money and power and spreading Christianity as well as British ways of life.<br>Queen Elizabeth gave permission to set up a colony on Roanoke Island ( USA ) but because of a lack of supplies they quickly became reliant on indigenous people. The lack of trust between the two groups lead to an outbreak of violence. The attempt on starting a colony fails and the British abandon the land. Through this event they gain more knowledge about their enemy which they can use in the future.</div>]]></description>
