I think that revenge is a spiteful act towards an individual in retaliation to something done to you while justice is more fair. In context of this story, the Commissar could have gotten revenge for his family by shooting Carl's son. This would have been spiteful since Carl is innocent, and he would only be killing him out of spite for what happened to his family. The just way to handle the situation is to let the judicial system convict them and get whatever punishment they see fit, within the law.

Sergio

Personally, I feel as though revenge is an act that is carried out by an individual or group of people who have had something terrible to them and want to return the act to the group that was responsible in hopes to make themselves feel better. And justice, in my opinion, is the same as the above statement, but done in a way in which it was fair and just. I feel as though revenge could be part of justice because if someone killed someone and was sentenced to either life in prison or was given the death penalty the family of the victim could fair a slight bit of relief knowing the person is gone forever with no more chances to live their life.

Rob Smart
