I'd like to travel to Spain to read literature! I find that many fascinating books—including one I am currently reading, The Shadow of the Wind, and one I have heard many positive reviews about, A Heart so White—are written in Spain and translated for eager readers such as myself to enjoy. Spain is a very colorful country, with incredible architecture that is unmatched. I'd love to one day be able to read my favorite books there!

I would love to travel to Mexico to learn about their literature and where it derives from. Although I am Mexican myself, and have been to Mexico, I have not put much study into learning about their literature. I would love to learn more about things such as myths or camp fire stories. Another place I would like to go to and learn about their literature is France. I took 3 years of it here at King Drew and would love to learn more about their literature and arts.

I would like to travel to Italy and read their literature because Italy is a beautiful country. I have never really seen an emphasis on Italian literature anywhere so I believe it would be interesting to read Italian literature, in addition, their language is sort of similar to Spanish which is why it also interest me because it's similar to another language that I am familiar with. Another country I'd like to travel and read literature from is the UK because I know that when English literature is studied, there is mostly an emphasis on Shakespeare but I would like to read other English literature because I know they have had some talented writers.

France is the country with the most Nobel Prize for literature winners. Knowing so excites me and inspires me to explore their literature. I would like to read and compare their literature to literature of different counties and cultures. I would also like to travel to France because of their culture. Their culture is one of a kind and I would love to explore their etiquette.

My top travel location would definitely be Germany because of the history that country holds. Although a lot of dark events have happened there, there is a lot of experience to see there. The first place I would go to would be the autobahn. There is no speed limit on the German Autobahns which means I can go there and go as fast as I'd like to. I'd like to visit the car factories since German cars are arguably the best cars built today.

Some authors who interest me that are outside of the United States are French author Albert Camus and Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Albert Camus has many famous novels such as "The Stranger" and "The Plague." I know his works involves themes such as existentialism, which is something I personally believe in. I've read some poems in the past by Pablo Neruda, which were in Spanish. I've never read any type of literature in Spanish before, even though it's my birth language so they were very memorable. And although they are American, I've always wanted to read "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou and I've recently heard of a a book called, "A woman of independent means" by Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, which is written as letters which allows readers to have an open interpretation of the story.
