The Catholic Church changed significantly after the crusades. After the crusades the catholic church has become much richer. The Church became richer as people started paying ten percent of their earning to the church and Knights that fought in the crusades, gave up their land to the Church. The Church also became stronger as the Pope was seen as the overall leader of Europe meaning he controlled basically everyone that lived in Europe.
