Ten Frame Mania

Ten Frame Mania is a Greg Tang math game. This fun online game, develops number sense with the use of a ten frame. Students represent each number on a ten frame, as quickly as possible. The goal is to clear all the numbers before the numbers hit the end of the track. After the first level, players are able to unlock the ability represent 5 (ones) at a time. Making it faster to represent the numbers on the track. Levels continue to unlock an ability, representing 10 at a time, and the numbers become larger. I've noticed all levels of students enjoying this game. It scaffolds number sense in a fun and engaging way!

Symphony Math

Symphony Math was purchased by CPS in 2016. Over the passed two years, students in grades 1-2 are required to log a minimum for 45 minutes a week, into the online application. Symphony Math works with three different components the screener, the benchmarker and the instruction. Each week, I get an email providing me with feedback for each student in my classroom. Most students respond powerfully to Symphony Math. With their own personal logins, students complete scaffolded equations while also feeling like they are playing a game!

Super Sevens

Super Sevens is an online application available for less than a dollar. I've noticed by students responding the most positively to this game. Super 7's is an arcade-style game. Discs with numbers 1-6 bounce around the screen while students draw lines to make 7. As the levels go up, the screen fills up faster. Eventually negative numbers are added. I found myself even addicted to the game! As an aside, it is tough to keep students quiet during this fun game!

Sushi monster is usually an application for students in the higher elementary grades. However, my high level math students have enjoyed the app recently. This app is also scaffolded in levels. Students begin with additions problems and eventually move on to multiplication.

Fasst Math

Fasst math is the next step for our students once they complete Symphony Math. As a first grade intern, I haven't had much experience with this application. It is not introduced to students until grade three. From my understanding the app is similar to Symphony Math, instead of addition and subtraction, the app focuses on multiplicatio and division.
