He gives examples like the Beatles how they combine their voices and add on to each other to make the music sound better than it would without that combination. I feel as if this doesn't get done as much in popular music today. Today it's mostly about singularity and someone being in the spotlight so musicians don't have the harmonizing like bands like the Beatles.
