The start of the idea of rebelling was Old Major, a wise old boar that would die two days later. After the animals did not get fed due to the mean farmer named Mr. Jones, they decided it was a good time to rebel and follow Old Majors orders. Once they got control of the farm, two pigs named Snowball and Napoleon took power for the farm. As time goes on, Mr. Jones comes back to try and retake the farm back, but thanks to Snowball's wise tactics, they win in the fight that was later named "The Battle of the Cowshed." Later, Napoleon who was thirsty for power, drove Snowball off the farm because he was worried of his intelligence against his beliefs. Time went on as Napoleon, Squealer, and the dogs took all the power in the farm for themselves. Boxer, who was the hardest working animal on the farm, helped rebuild the windmill, but after he was too weak to work, Napoleon sent him off to be slaughtered. The finishing scene of the book is the other animals watching from afar, as they watch Mr. Pilkington and Napoleon playing a game of cards. The animals could not quite tell if Napoleon was a human or still a pig, due to how much he has changed.

When even the tiniest bit of power has find its way to you, it may dramatically change you. In my research, I found that when a person feels powerful, it may shut off your feelings towards other people. This is called the mirror system. The mirror system acts as you feeling for somebody else, or getting inside of their head to feel what they would be feeling. They did an experiment with powerful people and powerless people. They showed them a video of different people squeezing a rubber ball. The video activated the mirror system in the brain, as the scientists found out the less powerful people felt more for the people with the rubber ball, as the powerful people felt for them less. This all ties to Animal Farm because once Napoleon gained all the power, felt felt less about what the animals wanted and more of what he wanted.

My thematic statement was "power can change people for the best and for the worst. This relates to Animal Farm because Napoleon seized power for himself, which shut off his heart. The research relates to the science behind how the power gets to your head. This all ties around Napoleons leadership and how it ended as a negative. This all ties up with the video of how Lotzo took power of the daycare, and seized power, and also ended in a negative to the daycare.
