Theme: The perspective of an individual may change overtime due to outward appearances and knowledge, since people can be deceiving when not given enough background.

Explanation/evidence: Miranda's perspective of Ferdinand does not change over time because of how she slowly falls in love with him. Prospero was planning for the two to fall in love, but when Ferdinand arrives he starts to change his perspective due to fear of moving too fast. When Prospero begins to test him, he asks if Ferdinand would like food. In response to this Miranda tells Prospero not to test him. In return, Prospero says, "What, I say, My foot my tutor? -Put thy sword up, traitor" (Shakespeare 1.2. 568-569). When Prospero sees them moving fast, he decides to test Ferdinand which eventually changes his perspective.

Power

Act 3: Perspective
