When achieving health goals it is important to implement strategies. Strategies will help quicken the process as well as help you understand how to best achieve your goal. The book states " try and gain a basic understanding of the biology behind the goal you are trying to achieve " (HCSD 9). By understanding your body you will be able to exercise or eat right the way best fitting to your body. In addition to this it is also very important for one to understand what their "fitness level" (HSCD 8) is. By understanding their fitness level one can strategize a plan for exercise based on how long it takes to do a certain amount of push ups or any other exercise. In addition to this, If the goal is on the standards of the person who created it, it will be alot easier to achieve.

My friend wanted to lose ten pounds before summer vacation. She does sports with me and knew how to best exercise for her body type. She strategized and used her families health history to help her, because everyone in her family is good at running, she would run 5 miles everyday before and after school in a time frame of about One to One and a half hours. She would monitor her progress every other day. She achieved her SMART goal in the time frame she had given herself.
