Most people are born with the ability to think and create freely. Children are born to be creative.

There’s this research from nasa showing how a lot of children, 98% to be precise, possess the genius level for creativity. They repeated the experiment years later with the same group of children’s at the age of 10, only 30% are considered as geniuses. The number further decreases by the time they reached adulthood, only 2% remains

this shows how people do possess natural born brilliance, but they may be effected by other factors as they grow up

‘Genius is 1% talent and 99% percent hard work.’

People who are gifted can be successful through hard work. But for those who are not gifted, even though they put a lot of effort, their ability is still limited and cannot achieve as high as those who are talented.

For example, Thomas Edison was a very curious child who learned most things by reading on his own when he was small. He was definitely born to be a smart boy but what made him success was his determination. He attempted for a lot of times until he finally succeeded in inventing light bulb.

Although genetics may provide a person with an easier pathway to learn, without their hard work and determination, they can never success.

Therefore, both factors are important.

Genius are only called genius because of their natural gifted talent

Mozart would be a great example of a gifted genius. Gifted with perfect pitch and an extraordinary memory. Mozart started his comping journey at the age of just four.

All normal person can be very successful if they work hard, but only a few are addressed as genius. Geniuses are gifted, but they still need to work hard to become what a genius should be like. I believe that both nature and nurture are needed to be a genius but nature is needed first.

Take two people as an example, one is smart at birth, they easily achieve something at a young age, but they don’t put in much effort as they grow up, they’ll be like normal people, or even worse. But the other person who is not as smart, works hard day and night, with good studying methods , this person manages to achieve high and become successful, might even have extraordinary ideas popping up to the public, they become the kind of genius that the public define.

Just like what Tomas Edison said: Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration

Genius: a person thats exceptionally intelligent

In the " tale of zhongyong" a boy named zhongyong was gifted with brilliant literature talents, and he's father profited off his talents, but didnt let him study. In the end his special ability are nothing compared to people who worked hard

Also,there are many students that are not genius but they work hard and they can get good grades in public exams, which proved that normal students doesn’t mean that they can’t get good grades if they are not genius

-the tale of Zhongyong

Zhongyong was born to be intelligent. He can write a good poem when he had not been educated. We can see that nature is important for genius, without nature intelligence, Zhongyong may not have the foundation for future learning.

However, Zhongyong did not receive education. At the end of the story, Zhongyong's talent is almost 'disappear'. We can see that nurture working is important for genius too.

From this story we can see that a genius needs both nature intelligence and nurture working so that they can become a genius and succeed.
