His musical output is vast and expansive. In his thirty-five year career he's released over 30 albums that include elements of funk, jazz, rock, disco and hip-hop.

He's also a fashion pioneer. He helped make androgyny a more acceptable fashion style.

Prince is more than just a pop star – he's an icon. He represents more than just music to his fans. Started out as an acoustic demo that was given to another funk band. The band (Mazarati) majorly reworked the song into a more stripped-back minimalist sound. Prince was so impressed he decided to keep the song for himself. Prince's new version was added to Parade at the last minute and also featured on the soundtrack to the film Under the Cherry Moon.

The lyrics of the song are relatively simple – it's about a man trying to seduce and explain his intentions to a woman. All he wants is her 'kiss'.
