Have your ideas about teaching young learners changed in any way?If so,how? It has changed in most ways.First and the most impaortant point is to exposure children to target language as much as possible. We should motivate olur students with different techniques.I like star-rainbow-cloud-rain idea most.I will apply this one certainly. And I understand that we shouldn’t control all their behaviours as they are totally different charecters and learn in different ways.I like the idea speaking corner in school corridors leaving some items and change them acording to the context.Alphabet race is also creative and enjoyable.Next affective activity is warm-up activity.Never I have ever….We can change it into Do you like…?Can you…?Have you got a…?drilling is a nice version for me and my students.

1) I think whole class drilling-group drilling activities can be adapted.Long dialogues shouldn’t be used for kids.Because They are confusing and lowers their enthusiasm. The context mostly should relate to their daily lives.Suggestions for teachers should be included in the books as we sometimes don’t know how to do it effectively.
2) Thanks to PDC we can redesign our lesson plans acording to what we have learnt. For example I liked drilling activities, songs, chants and tongue twisters most.As they are both involving as to the process and they learn without realising. These activities encourage them to speak and take part in lessons.
Listen and do activities are also fun and educational.TPR.Statues are applicable for my ss.
3) Creating a context and a meaningful reason for the dialogue with the children part matches with warm-up as the teacher shows a picture familiar with their lives and talk about it.
Prompt questions, checking predictions,Practise dialogue, expressing mood,Whole class demonstration parts relate to ENGAGE and SHARE part.
More practise part is suitable for Reflection and Evaluation.
Presentation to Class part goes with the Closing Remarks.
4)Everything is perfect and guiding us very well.Thank you dear Simon and Burcu 💕

1)I agree with the 3rd opinion.”Some experts think using phonics sometimes is useful- a little bit of phonics quite often and thinking especially about problem sounds.”
As far as I’m concerned I have done mistakes about giving problematic sounds so far as in Turkey unfortunately we give the alphabet and spelling activity.I’m regretful For it.From now on I have decided to give not all the sounds but especially problem sounds in a planned activity from time to time as Experts say.Of course I want to give most of the sounds but We have limited time and We have lots to do.I’m sure I’ll do my best For pnonics.I will do it in an enjoyable way as We did today.
2)Shared reading activity was very lovely today.Because it emphasizes sharing and working together with the children. Also getting ss into semi-circle is nice to make eye contact with them and to create a friendly environment. Before reading Warm up activity is also crucial to prepare ss for the story.By warm up We can activate their background knowladge.Illustrations takta their attention.Involving ss into the text actively by using gestures and body language together is both enjoyable and fun.Fun means a lot for kids.:).Joining in the repeated parts is also informative as ss don’t forget the chants.I’ll certainly apply this story telling in my lessons.I’m really satisfied with this activity because I skip this part in my lessons or let me say I don’t do it in an enjoyable way like today.:)Thank you for these nice activities.

1)I think settler activities and Stirring activities will help us in our PDC sessions. As settler activity I have taken stories or storybooks, wordplay activities, whole class listening activities and art and craft activities. For settler activities TPR for reading or listening activites, drama acting out, mingles or surveys can be adapted.Chinese whisper was one of my favourite ones:).Giving seconds and want them to produce as many words as they can also affective and fun.Writing the short names and writing words related to the sound and make up a funny sentences was great.Stop the bus is encouraging too.I liked it.:)
2) There are lots of points in my mind as I have started to think how to plan and apply and get feedback. How can I increase cruisty ?I think from the first PDC to the last PDC I will stick a cardboard on the wall and want them to write what they have taken away voluntarily of course as We are just facilitators :)so at the end of the sessions even they will be shocked.Stirring and Settler activities will work excelent here.Group works and forming grouping ways are important and provide clearness.Instructions must be clear and short. That’s what I have taken today.I tried to catch as much I could as I was ill .

Yes,in many ways it has changed.First of all We should be careful while giving feedback to our students because if We give negatife comments ,it can demotivate and it is not a good way of improving children.Over praising doesn’t work because it loses its meaning when you do it constantly.I must be careful about it.I like the idea of çölleştiniz analist of errors children made in activity, writing the errors on the onarsa or telling it orally with drilling instead of immediate correction .Back-chain drilling was different to me and I can use it in my classes.Thumbs up-thumbs middle-Thumbs down activity and traffic lights activity are similar to each other and applicable but challenging part is there shouldn’t be middle part.Multiple choice cards and success criteria are the ones I use in my classes.I will try 3-2-1 if I can achieve:). As a conclusion We should be very careful while giving feedbacks for kids’ self-esteem.We shouldn’t put obstacles We should just guide to somewhere. Thanks Simon and Burcu Hodja. You’re so lovely and this is a refreshment for me.:)

I feel comfortable and relaxed as I have lots in my mind.At the same time I feel excited because this will be the first time to engage and share with my collugues and I feel myself different and lucky. My self-confidence improved and I feel that I can do this.💪🏻😍.My students will be very lucky, also because their English teacher comes to school with new tecniques,games,warm-ups.They will be eager to speak and participate in my lessons. The lessons will be more colorful.
2)As We have already learned many ways I feel a bit comfortable because I think I have captured the necessary parts about problems.Think-pair-share and less is more are my mottos.:)Keeping them in my mind I will encourage my collogues to think, engage and share and reflect and evaluate together to improve or to enlarge our knowladge.Of course I will have some kind of problems with the planning or with the sessions or even with the physical environment but no problem it will be Ok.I trust on myself,my creativity,my problem-solving,my relationship with people. Thanks to PDC sessions.Thank you Simon so much and thank you Burcu Hodja. It was fabolous being here with you.:)
