There are many reasons why jobs in Venice were harder for the Jews than the normal Italian non-Jew. First of all if you were Jewish and ran a store, many people would refuse to shop at that store just because your Jewish. This made it hard to get customers. Another reason why it was hard is that the government put special taxes on merchants and money lenders, that they had to pay 5% on all their import and export transactions.

The Jews had many restrictions that didn't allow them to do many simple Jewish mitzvot.

Absolutely not, one of the main reasons why I don't think the Jews should move to Venice is because of the Ghettos. At some point in time the government decided to send all the Jews into the ghetto. The ghetto was a miserable place to live, and had little food, it had tons of diseases, and it had little space.
