Additionally, House democrats and Senate republicans evidently disagree on certain aspects of police reform, despite a bipartisan consensus that action is necessary. This was evident when Senate majority leader Mitch MCconell came out firmly against a democratic plan to overhaul policing. 
Perhaps this comes as a result of the extreme loyalty that the republicans give to the Trump administration and fear of retaliation from the White House, if they go against Trump’s agenda. This is also due to the fact that most republicans are counting on Trump’s core supporters for re election. This poses the question, whether this extreme loyalty towards Trump has led to ‘unlimited’ presidential power.

However, there are occasions when the judges make rulings for reasons 'other than where they stand on the left-right spectrum'. This was seen when Neil Gorsuch (who was appointed by Trump) wrote in a majority opinion that discriminating against LGBTQ+ employees violates the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This does not necessarily mean Gorsuch( a committed Republican)  is starting to lean towards the left. Instead, his decision stemmed from how the 1964 Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of their gender , 'and in practice there is no way to discriminate against a person for being LGBTQ+ without discriminating against their 🤬'.

Therefore, whilst the judges can be guided by partisan political values, they can also make politically neutral decisions where necessary.

Some argue this will make the government more transparent, others say it will just be a media spectacle. Which one will it prove to be?

This comes off the back off of the popularity of the COVID 19 briefings.

This has given the government increased power to act without the consent of parliament, to impose such things  as lockdown.

Conservative MPs may rebel over this as the the act needs to be renewed and Parliament is not able to scrutinize the actions of government effectively.

As pressures are mounting for Boris to resign this article and others covering the topic would be useful for inquiries into ministerial accountability and Boris's apparent ability to continue to get away with scandal that would have been detrimental to a PM in previous years.
