Gold Rush: January 24, 1848

During this time people of America who had move'd westward had discovered the wests large gold deposits and due to the vast wealth and relative rarity of gold at the time they all started moving west more to try and become rish this rush resulted in alot of very dangerous mines being left in the west

(I visited Arizona a year ago and saw one of these mines very sketch)

Cause: people discoverd vast amounts of gold in deposits on westward side of America.

Effect: everyone start to rush to the westward front of America in search of wealth due to the vast amounts of gold.

Perspective: This rush force'd servere effects on the Californians that lived their now dealing with sudden population growth their where droughts and famine all over the westward front, but this event did help alot of people get their footing with money and medicine that alot of people needed to live or just get their footing.

Connection: Wounded knee massacre they have a connection through the vast influx of settlers and just people in general that the gold rush brought to the westward side.

John Brown, Pottawatomie Creek massacre: May 24th, 1856.

John Brown along with a few men marched up to Pottawatomie Creek towards proslavery sympathizers, Brown banged on the door of James Doyle and ordered the men to come outside browns men attacked them with broadswords they executed three of the Doyles splitting open heads and cutting off arms.

cause: Slavery was a main reason for John Browns actions as he believed that he should help slaves rise up and fight against their owners using weapons that brown supplied he also just wanted to fight against slavery in general.

Effect: he ended up going to a proslave sympathizers with intent to end them with force to stop their proslave intentions.

Perspective: John Brown did this to try and go against slavery and did indeed do this for the slaves due to this the slaves where definitely most affected by this event more than anyone else.

Connection: Hapers ferry another one of John Browns events.

this was a raid he was most known for he hoped to spark a rebellion on the slavery side of the south and have them fight back against their slave owners with weapons he would at least try to supply, some people see John brown as a abolitionist and a hero but some also see him as a controversial figure who would be willing to kill just to get what he thought was right.

He was nice to everyone but violent when he felt it was needed he fought against slavery not only on this attack but another as well.

Wounded knee massacre was terrible day for some others a completely normal day either way no one can avoid the truth Lakota men and women where being forced onto reservations while their regular way of life where being destroyed the event was when at the wounded knee creek the U.S military opened fire killing 150-300 Lakota men, women, children.

this was due to the amount of contraversy around the event they where only their to dissarme the Lakota people but they heard gun fire and assumed a shotout had begun and due to this opened fire on the innocent people.
